Harry Potter is back , and this time he is about to start his second year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But there's just one thing ? This is my favourite Harry Potter movie. It was also my favourite book out of the whole series. I enjoyed the first film (Philosopher Stone) so I was quite excited when this movie was released ; and this film is so much better than the first!
I think the main difference between the first movie and this one , is how the three main characters , Harry , Ron and Hermione have all grown up! I prefer the actors 'grown up' as I find they're not so annoying and they appear so much mature. They don't overact and appear a lot more confident with their acting compared to the first movie. One character who we get to see a lot more of is Draco Malfoy. When this movie first come out (I was 11) I had a bit of a crush on Draco Malfoy. (I think it's that blonde hair! Although sadly he's lost his looks now!) I thought that Draco and his father added a lot to the film. I liked their characters even if they weren't the nicest.
There is quite a bit of humour in the movie ; humour that kids will love , for example when Harry and Ron turn into Crab and Goyle and also the scene with Ron and the spiders. However , I do find that this film is slightly 'darker' than the previous one , and young children may find it a bit scary (I did!).
The special effects in this movie are a lot better in this film than in the Philosopher Stone. They look so real! I think that it's good that they have improved because on the last film they weren't so good and I felt that in a way it took a bit of the 'magic' away on the film. But the director must have took note because they are so much better on this film.
One of my favourite actors in this movie is Richard Harris (who sadly died after this film) who plays Professor Dumbledor. I thought that he was such a great actor to play this part and I loved the way he portrayed Dumbledor. This is his last movie , so this movie is quite sad for his fans.
If you don't like creepy-crawlies then you may need a pillow to hide behind as there is a lot of spiders and snakes in this movie! But don't worry if you don't like spiders , think of poor Ron - he hates them too and he's surrounded by them!
There's one character that annoys me in this film and that's Moaning Myrtle! Her constant moaning and her voice goes through me! No wonder she's a ghost! I think to get a better idea of this movie , it would be best to watch the philosopher stone movie first as this gives a great introduction into the life of Harry Potter.
Overall a great my movie ;my favourite Harry Potter Movie!
