With the announcement that a third Harold and Kumar movie is now in production, and scheduled for a 2010 release, I would expect it to be titled... "Harold and Kumar go Straight To DVD" ! ...

With friends like Peter's . . .

Advantages: Easy watching, some good acting and great vocal performances
Disadvantages: Acting from some of the cast is a bit over-the-top

Footlights and I suspect that the revue put on by the six friends in the film must be inspired by this) help to keep it together. It's not the best script in the world - if it was mine I'd re-edit it before letting it go into production and I'd certainly improve or explain Brian's character more - and I'd agree with anyone who thought the storyline needed development. That said, it's certainly worth a viewing - particularly for a performance of The Way You Look Tonight by the six, with Hugh Laurie playing the piano. (Those who appreciated his impressions of musical instruments in A Bit Of Fry and Laurie might well enjoy his performance.) I'm afraid this must read more like a film review than one for a DVD. I don't know if there is another version that has extra features but the one I picked up in HMV a few years ago for about £12.99 certainly ...

Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay

Advantages: Some funny bits.
Disadvantages: Lame humour.

I can't begin to tell you how awfully awful this film is. I have never seen the Prequel and I didn't choose to watch this either. A friend of mine put it on and as I had not much else to do, I decided I would watch it. I have to say though, as I am reviewing this, I'm not really a fan of the american style 'comedy' films and so possibly my view of this film is more pessimistic as other views. If you find un-politically-correct films that poke fun at just about anything you are sure to enjore this film. At the end of the day, the film is supposed to be a bit of fun which allows you just sit and watch and not bother thinking about anything. The central characters- Harold and Kumar, a lazy twosome who can be described at 'potheads' plan a trip to Amsterdam: The capital of Mariijuana. They plan this in order for Harold to meet his girl ...
