Firstly the star of the film is Adam Sandler and to be honest just knowing that still made the film brilliant. You might know the other actors but i didnt but i found out just for you. These include Carl Weathers, Julie Bowen, Allen Covert, Frances Bay and Christopher McDonald. Bob Barker, Robert Smigel, Kevin Nealon, Joe Flaherty, Lee Trevino, Richard Kiel, and Ben Stiller.
The characters that these people play are . . . Adam Sandler - Happy Gilmore Christopher McDonald - Shooter McGavin Julie Bowen - Virginia Venit Frances Bay - Grandma Gilmore Carl Weathers - "Chubbs" Peterson Allen Covert - Otto Richard Kiel - Mr. Larson Dennis Dugan - Doug Thompson Bob Barker - Himself Kevin Nealon - Gary Potter Ben Stiller - Nursing Home Orderly Man
The main overview is a man called Happy Gilmore who is in love with the game Ice Hockey. He goes to the try outs every year to try and make the hockey team but fails because of his appalling skating, however he does have incredible power in his shot and a great passion as well. However this passion gets him very angry and he gets in quite a few insidences where he ends up in a fight or an angry fit.
When the tax collector takes his mother's house he takes a bet with the removers that he can hit the golf ball 400 yards. He wins. This is how Happy then gets into golf and starts winning games, with his only problem being his short game.
I don't want too spoil anymore of the film to anyone who hasn't seen the film but it is a great comedy that brings humour with love and mixes them in just right amounts, comedy coming out on top.
The main element of comedy comes from Happy's anger and when he gets into a fight with Bob Barker, a spectator and starts screaming and swearing at a golf ball on live television.
All in all this is one of my favourite films and i would recommend it too anybody. Adam Sandler is an excellent actor and some other films that I recommend are Big Daddy, Click, Mr Deeds and Anger Management that all star Adam.

Advantages: Fun for all ages, a great bit of light-hearted relief. Disadvantages: No major ones at all, but why couldn't they make the film longer, or at least a sequel
