The first time i saw this movie was when my uncle loaned me it on tape. That was around 10 years ago and i still enjoy watching it to this very day. In fact typing this makes me want to stick on the dvd now.
This is basic comedy. Nothing sophisticated here, but i think sandler is at his prime in this role.
The story follows gilmore (sandler) on his failing quest to be a hockey player. As his dear granny has her house repossessed by the IRS, sandler must find a way to make money to buy back the house before it's too late. This is where he discovers his enormous talent for hitting a golf ball very far, and decides to compete as a golfer to raise some money.
This leads to him competing against shooter mcgavin in a rivalry that see's some hilarious gags exchanged. There's also a love interest in the form of PR lady virginia bennet, but i feel that this is more of a distraction from the comedy moments that the movie offers, and adds very little to the overall plot.
I only wish i could go back and watch it for the first time again. I think my sides almost split then. Fantastic movie. Definetly one of adam sandlers best.

I note that you've submitted this as a DVD review, but not mentioned the extras at all. Are there any? What are they? Are they any good. If you add anything about the DVD, or change this to be a "Film Only" review, please let me know and I'll re-rate.

Advantages: Fun for all ages, a great bit of light-hearted relief. Disadvantages: No major ones at all, but why couldn't they make the film longer, or at least a sequel
