Now before I start my review i just want to say that this will be my last review for about 3 weeks as I have don't have internet access at home when i go back for xmas. So I hope you enjoy it and i'll get back to writing around the beginning of january. Finally Merry Xmas to all.
Now on with the review.
Happy Gilmore is probably my joint favourite film of all time tied with weird science. The reason I love Happy Gilmore so much is the fact that it just never gets old every time I watch it I end up in stitches and I always hear something that I didn't catch last time.
The film is all a bout young man, Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler), who fancies himself as a NHL pro and despite the major problem of him being rubbish at ice hockey he isn't deterred and turns up for the trials held at his local stadium every year.
After his latest trial he returns home to discover that his kindergarten teaching girlfriend has had enough of him and his wild ambitions and has left him. He wakes in the morning with a phone call from his beloved grandma who is having a little trouble at her house.
Happy arrives at the house to discover that sweet old grandma hasn't been paying he taxes and that the IRS have come round to remove all her possessions in order to pay of the debts she owes however Happy promises his grandma that he will raise the necessary funds to buy her house back.
Whilst the removal men are moving grandmas possessions they come across a set of golf clubs and Happy Challenges them to a driving competition and hits an impressive 400 yard drive.
With his new found talent Happy heads off to the local driving range and starts making money by hustling on the driving range where he is spotted by a golfing coach called Chubbs. Chubbs manages to persuade Happy to take up golf even though Happy thinks that it is the most boring game in the world played only by people with a 'Fat Ass'
Happy enters the tournament with a little apprehension and comes out winning even though his short game isn't the best and gets invited to the pro tour which is where the big bucks are but getting the money needed proves a little harder than he first thought.
Will Happy make enough money to get his house back or his Happy playing for another reason ???????????
This film is a must especially for any Adam Sandler fans as I think it is probably the best film he's done and manages to add a bit of humour to the game which is considered by many to be boring and for the elderly.
The film is full of classic one liners and it is gauranteed a laugh a minute and contains a guest appearance of TV's Bob Barker as Happy's celebrity golfing partner which proves to be one of the funniest scenes in the whole film
Sandler is amazing in the film and delivers humour like only he can and the story line although a bit predictable towards the end still makes a vey entertaining film .The film overall is superbly made with characters for every kind of person. My favourites being the spiritual golf player who tell Happy to 'send the ball home' and the Old people home carer played by Ben Stiller who has me in stitches every time I watch the film.
I cant recommend this film enough although it may be a little unsuitable for the young ones as the bad language gives it a deserved 12 certificate but overall its brilliant.

Advantages: Fun for all ages, a great bit of light-hearted relief. Disadvantages: No major ones at all, but why couldn't they make the film longer, or at least a sequel
