If you are not a fan of Adam Sandler, do not be put off. Despite the fact that this is a film based around his typical brand of homour, this is very much the original and best. It shows a much higher standard than some of his more recent films, which have themselves been huge successes.
Adam Sandler fans wil no doubt have seen this film already, but if for somereason you haven't you are very very lucky, as you have a fantastic film to watch - go get it out the shows, now!
Despite being in huge demand, Happy Gilmore was released in the UK last year, and came straight out on budget. I could not beleive my luck, being able to buy a brand new copy of a film I had been searching for for ages, for just £5.99.
You know when a comedy is good, because you remember all the lines, characters and scenes, and after just one viewing you are already going over and over them all with you friends. This is definately one of those films, and it just gets better the more and more you watch it. Its one of those films that has that mark of true class. Everyone who has seen it raves about it, but on first viewing its good, but not the best film ever, but on the second viewing you start to see it. It goes from good to great! Come the third viewing and you are sold - it is one of the funniest films ever. It really is that good.
So, whats it all about. Adam Sandler plays a Happy Gilmore. Since he was a wee nipper, all he has wnated to do is play Hockey. There is just one thing, he is useless. However, when a old 'hand' (you'll get the joke when you watch it) sees him whacking trash in anger, he offers to coach him at golf. With his dear old grandma in financial problems he goes with it for the money, and he somewhat loud, Hockey-esc course manners make an instant impression.
This really is a superb film, and should not be missed, by anyone!!!
What it! and buy it! then watch it again, and again, and again.
