well, where to start - ah yes the beginning..ive waited along time to see where hannibal came from and his taste for human flesh and i git my answer in this amazingly well put together film starring up and coming gaspard ulliel (how yummy is he!) as a young hannibal lectar. it was hard to look at this in the same line as hannibal, it just isnt the same without hopkins..it has a right of its own. it starts in the country during the war and some very hungry soldiers eating a child, hannibals sister!! it just so happens to set hannibal on a trail of revenge as he grows and finds then kills the soldiers in there normal jobs now the war is over...one by one he takes them out with his taste for flesh growing until he reaches the leader Grutas (rhys ifans) where his journey can end...or can it? gaspard plays this part well, he has a great evil look in his eye and can really manipulate his face with a twink of his lip..unique all in all this film has a lot to offer and is well worth a watch if you love a bit of gore and enjoy the hannibal series!
I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
Sorry for the low rating but thinking like someone looking to buy this I would be looking for both more information and personal opinion. May I suggest that you take a look at some other DVD reviews on here which get mainly higher ratings of Very Helpful to see the sort of content you could include to make your review of more use to a consumer.
