I really cannot understand all of the good reviews that I have read about this film, perhaps I missed something when I watched it - like a storyline.
I thought perhaps I was the only one who didn't like it but the other four people who went with me to see it also thought that it was very disappointing and one of them even fell asleep which says a great deal about the film!!
The story can be told in ten minutes, in fact, if you want to see the film go and see the last ten minutes - they are quite good. The rest of the film however is boring and dull.
I have no complaints about the acting, I was expecting the film to be worse because Jodie Foster wasn't in it but Julianne Moore took her place very well.
Basically the story is about what happens to Hannibal Lecter. goes round killing people, eating them etc. etc, well, what did you expect really?? The ending was quite good and has been left open for another film but after seeing this one I would be very unlikely to go and see a third one.

Agree with you totally. I thought this was going to be a rare sequel that would be as good as the first one but I came away feeling a little disapointed. The Novel of Hannibal is far better than the movie

Advantages: Gruesome, eerie, and Anthony Hopkins in all his brilliance! Disadvantages: Has a sort of comical side to it, not as much a thriller as Silence of the Lambs.
