To call this film a horror movie would be a great disservice. The director Ridley Scott wets our appetite from the start deliberately holding back on Lecters first appearance in the film. He teases you with photographs and CCTV footage of Lecter’s handiwork.
The Film believe it or not in my opinion is a love story between Hannibal and Clarice. Now played by Julianne Foster. Foster the FBI agent finds herself the victim of corruption and Lecter comes to her rescue so to speak.
I actually found myself rooting for Lecter in his battle against the baddies. The climax of the film is an unforgettable dinner party. Liver and onions anyone.
The soundtrack to the film is something else…. Does anyone know if it is out on CD yet.
If you like feeling insecure and frightened this is the film to watch.
