Hand Of Death
From John Woo, the director of Hong Kong movie classics including Bullet in the Head and ... more
The Killer, comes The Hand of Death; his unique take on the period martial arts movie genre. This is probably the first and last time you'll ever hold a DVD of a film directed by John Woo that features kung fu legends Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao! Their foe is none other than the formidable James Tien (Game of Death) who wants to wipe all Shaolin men from the face of China.Leading the charge is Tan Tao-Liang as Yun Fei in a fascinating movie filled with moments that echo throughout Woo's subsequent career. Packed with extensive fights using varied disciplines it's an early showcase for all the performers (in particular Jackie Chan) and a chance to rediscover an early star of the scene: the super-kicking Tan Tao-Liang in a great performance that shows just why his nickname was 'Flash Legs'. In common with the most entertaining Woo films it's the final half-hour showdown that really kicks ass in typically brutal style so watch out!

DVD Description
Former 'Little Fortunes' Chan, Biao, and Hung team up with director Woo as a legion of fighters determined to protect the Shaolin school from a megalomaniacal lord.
Advantages: Good story line Disadvantages: Rubbish special effects, lacks blood and gore and the scare factor
...? aren?t anything out of the ordinary or spectacular. The ghosts are faded and have a sort of ?sand blowing in the wind? effect to them around the edges. Not very convincing. In my opinion the film didn?t have much of a horror factor about it either, but that may be a different case to other people as everyone has different opinions. I would recommend ?Death Row? to the people who don?t like very gruesome or chilling horrors, but for people who like a good gruesome, chilling horror this isn?t the film for you.
Where Can I Find The ?Death Row? DVD?
If your interesting in watching ?Death Row?, then there are a few different ways of getting your hands on a copy of it. And by this I don?t mean an illegal copy.
*Buy online from websites such as Play.com or Amazon.co.uk, or from any other website you may find cheaper. I bought my copy...

...the second will be a must watch!
Death Note is a Japanese Series/Film . I watched the version with English subtitles as I prefer subtitles to movies that are badly dubbed which is usually the case. I think I recall seeing an English dubbed version on sale but in most searches I found japanese with English subtitles.
This movie was first released in the UK in 2008 and was Released in Japan in 2006
This DVD is a 2 disc Limited Edition and it is a fantastic edition . I will explain why..
The outer sleeve to the case may just be a regular Card board type with a picture and all the usual stuff you have on a DVD cover. However!..... The inner sleeve is made to look just like a Black Hardback Note Book (just like the one in the movie) Embossed on the front cover in silver are the words 'Death Note' In both English and Japanese. It is a must...

...The Film
Death Ship is a 1980 horror film that opens on the sea with an old ship storming across the waves. It?s seemingly controlled by ghosts and a German voice is heard over the intercom. At the same time on an apparently near by cruise liner a party is going on. The captain of the ship (George Kennedy) is just about to retire and hand over control to Marshall his second in command played by Richard Crenna.
The two ships are apparently on a collision course but this is really badly created in the film as whenever you see the old haunted ship its daylight but whenever you see the cruise liner is in pitch darkness. The two ships have clearly been filmed at two different times of day and it?s such an obvious mistake that the audience can?t miss.
Anyway, the ships crash and the cruise liner is seen to suffer a lot of damage...
