The overall rating of a review is different from a simple average of all individual ratings.
Advantages:
Unbreakble, unstoppable super killer on a mission, a bright young cast including Dawson's Creek's Michelle Williams and an ending that surely means this is the last ever Myers movie
Disadvantages:
suffers from below par movies that we made before it but to be fair H20 does well . Myers eyes are also visible through the mask, I prefer it when they're 'empty black holes' but then thats just my personal opinion

Halloween H20 is the climax to a Horror franchise that has spanned two decades ever since John Carpenter's stalk and slash late 70's original first burst on to the Movie Screens and changed teh face of Horror forever.
H20 was always going to be a tricky movie to pull off after the way the plot took the series in Halloween 6 (eg: Micheal Myers is possessed by a thorn symbol and all this other mystic cr*p they came up with)
H20 gets around these lose ends however by making this movie as if Halloween 4,5 and 6 had never happened. On the whole H20 is really the third sequel in the series following on 20 years after Halloween 2 ended in the early 80's.
Ok, the writers may come in for a lot of abuse for dismissing Halloween 4,5 and 6, but in my opinion they deserve a hell of a lot of respect for making this bold move and ultimatly restoring the series back to its former glory, eg: an unstoppable and unexplainable killer that nothing on earth seems to be able to stop. On the whole the movie shouldn't have to explain who or what Micheal Myers is, when they try it only gets stupid and cheesy. Micheal Myers is an unstoppable killing Machine who is on a mission, pure and simple, no toher explanations are needed...
To sum up H20 restores some respect and dignity back in to the Halloween storyline. H20 doesn't beat the original though, to be fair the first movie was a one off and an all time classic, but Halloween H20 is a fair and above average offering to bring a curtain down on a 20 year old horror Myth...

What's all this about Halloween 4, 5 and 6? As far as I knew there's been the Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis in the 70s / 80s and then this, the sequel. When were these other films released? Or have I picked up the wrong end of the stick here?!
