Halloween 3 is one of the weirdest things ever produced. It is from the Halloween series however it has none of the stars or the characters from it. I mean what was the point in calling it Halloween, if you ask anyone about a movie called Halloween they imediately think of Micheal Myers. The simple reason for this is, (as with most other sequels) money. The producers knew that the name alone would draw interest from the large teenage movie goers market.
Now I don't mind people using a name but there has too be two conditions firstly it has too remain true to the original, and secondly the producers have to at least try and make it a good film. In the case of this film neither condition was met. The producers rushed out a film that could never live up to the legacy of halloween and the result is that the franchise has be on a downward slide ever since.
As for the film itself its rather misleading. You read the label Halloween and expect to get Micheal Myers, instead you get a mad scientist who creates robotic helpers and halloween masks that kill the wearers. I have, as yet, been unable to make any conection between this and the first two films. It isn't based in the same place and none of the original characters are in it.
But this is just the beginning of the movies problems. The script like most horror films has a tissue thin plot but unlike other movies the cast containes no stand out performances. Also making a sad departure from the original movies is the creepy music. Instead of the world renound trademark tune we get a pop track based on the silver shamrock company that make the above mentioned masks.
There are only two good things about this movie. The first being that you forget it by the time its back in the box. This saves you from seeing its crapness over and over and over. The second good thing about this movie is obviously its price. Shops are constantly dropping the price , (Take the other day when I saw it in Poundland and it was in with other DVD in a 2 for £1 deal), and in all honesty there are a few case where the attempt at horror and suspense has to be laughed at. But Really the only reason why you would buy this was to complete the set. And even then most would quite happily see their set go from 2 to 4
