Halloween actually came from "Assault on Precinct 13" another one of John Carpenter films. But Assault on precinct 13 wasn't to be John Carpenters greatest hit. (We all know what his greatest film was wink wink). Halloween was shot in only 21 days back in 1978, with one of the smallest movie budgets ever $300.000 but one also with the greatest profit. This horror tail of Halloween has for me one of the greatest storylines, and set the trend for all horror slasher movies. First time I watch this film I was sat there with my pop and chocolates shouting at the screen, shouting "No, don't go in there" "Quick look behind you" "run go run" "go go don't look back". You can imagine the rest hehe. The story is very simple yet very thrilling and I would recommend to any horror buff.
Its Starts out on Halloween night 1963 when little Michael Myers whom is only six years old murders his older teenage sister Judith Myers, (in a very cheesy way I might add but its what makes it fun to watch). Michael gets sentenced to Smith Grove-Warren County Sanatorium, his locked away for 15 years. October 30th 1978 Michael escapes, only to return to his hometown Haddonfield.
Laurie Strode (Scream Queen Jamie lee) is a quite school girl, she doesn't go out much, and always does a lot of babysitting (you now where this is heading) Laurie meets up with her friend after school to walk home, only her friends have other things on their mind other than Halloween.
That Evening Laurie is babysitting, her friend Anne only being over the road babysitting Lindsey. Anne brings Lindsey over for Laurie to watch while she goes off to her boyfriends. Laurie starts wondering why her friend is taking so long, should Laurie go and find out what's happened?
Dr Loomis Michaels Psychiatrist is now her and the people of Haddonfield's only hope, but does he rescue Laurie and locks Michael back in the sanatorium where he belongs…. You have to watch to find out.
This is a gripping film and best watch in the dark with pop, chocolate and a loved one, Or if you're the daring type just the pop and chocolate. Great film
Enjoy one of the scariest movies of all time……
