Advantages: Complete collection Disadvantages: still not so many episodes
Obviously this is the completecollection of Vicar of Dibley series. However it doesn't include Comic Relief 2007 special.
(By the way, for those who don't know - this year comic relief special was the last episode of Vicar of Dibley in history. They stop making specials from now on).
We are going through it at the moment and it is really really funny and nice. Before buying it though, I thought there would be many more episodes than there actually is but it is still very good and well worth it. My favourite thing about it is that every episode ends with the Vicar telling a joke to Alice. So don't turn it off as soon as credits start, because the joke goes actually after the credits! ...
Advantages: Interesting, serious, believable and unique Disadvantages: slow at times
bonding between friends, but it's quite a heavy sophisticated piece, with detailed, well thought out plot lines and dark undertones. It's very unpredictable, completely surprising and practically cinematic in it's editing. And strangely enough, it's thought provoking! It's anime for adults, WITHOUT the sex!
The soundtrack also slips away from other animes, with it's classical Italian style. It's also used rather sparingly, instead of thrown about all the time like in most Western cartoons. The animation is also absolutely beautiful, and as I watched I really felt a lot of effort had been put into it.
GunslingerGirls tells the story of an Italian Government agency where girls are taken from their deathbed and "conditioned"- fitted with cybernetic implants and then trained to make them the perfect assassins. Each girl has her own handler ...
Advantages: conveniantly packaged, good series, lots of laughs, very amusing Disadvantages: quite short series
I purchased the complete Blackadder collection for £35 at HMV and it was certainly money well spent. I think the acting and humour is top notch and it features 4 of televisions greatest actors of all time "Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson). very wry and witty this is a great box set to buy if you want some top quality BBC made entertainment.
However, the entire 4 series only adds up to 14 hours,so i feel that the box set should be a little cheaper as you can buy the entire Jeeves and Wooster collection on the Play.com website for £25 and that amounts to around 18 hours and over 20 episodes. On the whole i was immensely pleased with the product. If you are a fan of the series then this is one boxset you will not want to miss out on.
when regarding the actual product; the boxset that contains the 6 dvs's is ...

DVD Description
Despite its girls-with-guns storyline and doe-eyed characters dressed in schoolgirl outfits, the action anime series GUNSLINGER GIRL eschews its genre's typically breezy comedy style for a dark and brooding exploration of female childhood. Set in Italy, the series centres on a little girl named Henrietta, who is taken in by a seemingly benevolent social welfare agency after her entire family is murdered in a massacre. But the organization is really a front for a secret government program that adopts terminally ill or orphaned girls, erases their memories, and endows them with implanted cybernetic devices that transform them into perfectly conscience-free assassins. As part of the reconditioning process, the girls are partnered with older male agents who not only provide them with professional instruction but act as their surrogate older brothers. Moody, stylish, and violent, the series chronicles Henrietta's training with her partner Jose with equal parts high-octane action sequences and poignant character studies of the pair's evolving relationship. The anime series is presented in its entirety with this collection of episodes.
