Bill Murray plays grumpy weatherman Phil Conners, who, every year, is sent to Punxsutawney, to report on Groundhog Day. The Groundhog Day is a tradition that the town has, when the groundhog is lifted out of it’s hole, it’s meant to predict the weather of the coming months.
Mr Grumpy constantly complains about having to do this and not even his producer Rita (Andie MacDowell), or Larry (the cameraman), can cheer him up.
Everything seems to be quite normal until the haunting feeling of dejavous hits and Phil finds himself repeating the same day over and over again. There are many moments of laughter when he tries to arrange the perfect date with Rita and gets to the stage of nearly knowing everything about her.
But still, he wakes up to the same awakening on the alarm clock, avoiding the same puddle and also avoiding his old school friend that is now an insurance salesman. Eventually, Phil gets things right and wakes up the next day with Rita.
Groundhog Day is fun, it’s the kind of movie where you could watch over.. and over… and over..
