Grey's Anatomy - Series 2 (DVD)

Advantages: A quirky series with a great cast
Disadvantages: Ellen Pompeo is a bit weak as the lead character

...Gray's Anatomy first aired in 2006 in the UK with an initial 14 episode run which was cut down to carry a few of the episodes over to the second series. Opening with the introduction to Meredith Gray, who has brought home the perfect stranger for a one night stand, we were soon hooked on the intern's professional and personal life. Discovering that her one night stand was going to be one of Seattle's leading surgeon's as well as her boss was only one of the many twists and turns that she would face as she starts her career at Seattle Grace Hospital. Mix that with the fact that her mother is a legend at the hospital and you can understand why she is apprehensive about her new placement. Meredith is played by Ellen Pompeo in her first major role after cameo's in Friends, and Law & Order. She is decent enough, but is frankly outshone... Read review

...Season 3 of Grey's Anatomy comes back with all the intensity of the first series for me and really kicks it up a gear. The characters relationships really begin to gel and get more complicated and so lend themselves to better storylines I feel in this series. We also get a lot of background knowledge on the characters that we previously never had which shows us why they are in the situations they find themselves now. If you are not familiar with Grey's it is a medical drama set in the fictional Seattle Grace hospital in Seattle. (It is actually filmed in California with some of the outdoor shots done in Seattle). The show is based around one of the main interns, Meredith Grey whose mother previously worked at the hospital too and was a brilliantly respected doctor. Advantages: Funny, sad, intense, exciting, completely addictive

...My fiance and I sat down one night and pressed play on the very first episode. I think we watched three that night and as soon as we were awake the next day it was straight back on again. For three days we ate, drank, slept and watched Grey's Anatomy. The characters are so well casted, a mixture of a old faces and some incredible new talent. The guest stars are also familiar faces but suit there roles just as well as the main cast. "McDreamy" has become an overnight heart throb and as much I would love to hate Dr Grey for getting paid to kiss him she is both intelligent and clumsy so many women can relate to her. Lucky for us that the ending shows us that no man is perfect!!!! The series follows 5 interns, Meridith, Izzy, George, Alex and Chrisina.
