Advantages: Great cast, lovely stories, great music, Christmas!! Disadvantages: None
.
The sound track is great. The film focuses on Billy Mack's (Bill Nighy) attempts at taking the song "Love is all Around us," to number one, however because it is at Christmas time it is renamed, "Christmas is all around us". This song was actually featured in Richard Curtis's breakthrough film, Four Wedding and a Funeral. Other artists to feature in the film are Girls Aloud, Dido, SugarBabes, Texas to name but a few.
Bonus features on the DVD include feature commentary with some of the actors, deleted scenes (hilarious and well worth a watch), the music of Love Actually and a music video of Kelly Clarkson. It is actually rated R for sexuality, nudity and language, however I think you would be ok letting teenagers watch this movie as in my opinion it is quite tame. The DVD runs for 2 hours and 15 minutes. ...
Advantages: Some nice performances. Disadvantages: Some dreadful turns, a lack of directorial talent and a patchy script.
A summer's day on Hampstead Heath sees seven different couples talking about love and sex. There's a soon-to-be-divorced couple discussing why great sex just isn't enough, a gay couple discussing the possibility of adoption, a couple stifled by the awkwardness of their blind date picnic and an elderly pair rediscovering lost love amongst others.
The first full-length feature by director Ed Blum is one of those movies that's trying to ape movies like "Magnolia" or Robert Altman's "Short Cuts" by tying together several different stories. However, those films all have a driving, dramatic narrative that is interlinked by one or several dramatic set-pieces. A disparate group of people meet in seemingly random ways and have a jarring impact on others' lives. Unfortunately Blum doesn't have that framework to hang his stories on. Each ...
Advantages: Great acting, Gritty atmosphere, Good character development Disadvantages: Some parts are abit boring.
of Dylan was just weird to follow. I don?t know why two beautiful women are in love with him he isn?t really a great looker. Even though it takes Vera a while to know she is in love with William he is a very respectful man when he marries her.
Filmed on a low budget I think it was pretty well done. There were many great establishing shots of Wales and a different side to London is seen. All the different shots kept it flowing and made it interesting to see. There were also many fantastic close ups which really capture the character?s emotion and fears. They used this a lot when dealing with some very harsh topics and I think it created the right atmosphere for these cold scenes.
The part of Caitlin was firstly casted to Lindsay Lohan but she dropped out just before the film was set to be shot. I am pretty glad about this if I am honest. I ...
