Advantages: sandra is great Disadvantages: weak storyline
...This is a film that when it came out I saw it at the cinema and I got it on DVD as soon as it came out and I must have watched it al least ten times, now as I have grown up I still like the film but not as much as I used to and think that it has a weak storyline, but its still very funny.
Sandra Bullock plays Gracie Hart a FBI Agent who is far from a lady in every sense, she eats like a man, snorts when she laughs and have never worn make up or waxed in her life. Advantages: a few good laughs, shatner's one-liners Disadvantages: fades towards end, not too original
...This film was a sleeper hit in the states, quietly edging past the $100 million mark and giving Sandra Bullock's box office pulling power a much needed boost. It's not the sort of film I normally go and see at the cinema but won't begrudge a viewing at home on dvd.

They enlist the help of gay pagent manager Victor Melling (Micheal Caine) to transform Gracie into a beauty queen.
What follows is some midly amusing entertainment with all the usual plot...

Gracie is assigned to enter as Miss. New Jersey, as the original candidate has been conveniently disqualified for taking part in a pornographic film. The pageant managers Stan Fields (sci-fi god William Shatner; Star Trek, The First Men on the Moon, Nukes in Space) and Kathy Morningside (Candice Bergen; Belly Talkers, Frames from the Edge) however, are rather unwilling to have Gracie take part as she is hardly 'feminine' in their eyes. So they bring in beauty specialist Victor Melling (Sir. Michael Caine; Get Carter, Shiner, Quills, The Cider House Rules) to optimise her appearance in the short space of two days. Melling does a good job, but Gracie is still as clumsy as ever in her pursuit of catching the criminal. When...
