Review of Gone In 60 Seconds DVD by phoenix072124

Advantages: Great acting, great car chases and loads of extras
Disadvantages: None barring more screen tome for Angelina Jolie.

First I will give you a idea of the plot then onto my opinion. The movie opens with three men ( Kip, Mirror man and Freb ) in a car looking for their target.... a Porsche, they see it in a display window. Kip throws a rock into the window, gets the car key and drives into the window and escaping in the car. As they are driving away they stop at a red light and challenges the other man to a race, as soon as it's green they go driving between 80 and ...
...arresting a person when the Porsche speeds by and reports it to the department, so now they have a helicopter following them which they don't know about. They arrive at the warehouse and puts the car where they have stole the others, but before they can do anything else the warehouse is surrounded by cops. The cops move in and found the cars with no keys, no damage to them and the thief's gone, they know that this is a professional job. Then it moves ... Read review

...his return home has not gone unnoticed, and a detective who knew him from his old days, smells something fishy and follows his every move. If that wasn't enough to contend with, a rival team of car boosters are out to wreck his attempts of stealing all the cars. With a film which features so many really nice cars and centers round the exploits of a team of car thieves, you would be forgiven for expecting a feast of mad car chases and huge special ...
...music videos but has since gone on to direct Swordfish and Kalifornia. I feel that Sena has done a good job of making an easy to watch action movie which focuses on the story. Unfortunately he was always going to struggle to please all the audience, as most people expected this to be an orgy of car chases and explosions. What some people don't realize is that this is actually a remake of the 1974 film of the same name, but vastly improved in all ... Read review

When the Remark of Gone in 60 Seconds staring Nicolas Cage was release on DVD, I found that the original version was also available on DVD. Having watched the original many years ago and only being able to remember small part of the film I decided to purchase it. After a very brief introduction into swapping a wrecked car’s identify with a stolen car, the man story starts. The ... Read review

DVD Description

Memphis Raines (Nicolas Cage) is a former car thief who is forced to come out of retirement when his younger brother, Kip (Giovanni Ribisi), is unable to deliver 50 expensive cars to dangerous smuggler Raymond Calitri (Christopher Eccleston). With his brother's life on the line, Memphis must enlist his old car-stealing partners for help in order to pull off the ultimate crime. His team includes his mentor, Otto (Robert Duvall), and an old flame (Angelina Jolie), plus a crew of other colorful characters. Once he gets them all together, Memphis has to do the impossible--organize the theft of 50 cars from all over Los Angeles in a single night, hampered by rivals, security systems, and the best efforts of the LAPD detective (Delroy Lindo) who is out to get him. GONE IN 60 SECONDS is a fun, action-packed movie featuring producer Jerry Bruckheimer's trademarks: a simple story, comedy, spectacular action, an excellent cast of stars and character actors, and an amazing car chase through the crowded streets of Los Angeles. This film is based on the cult classic 1974 movie of the same name, and it's a must-see for lovers of classic cars or action fans of any stripe. Dominic Sena, the director of KALIFORNIA, directed this fast-moving crime-adventure extravaganza.
