DVD Description
Includes the musicals GOING MY WAY and THE GLENN MILLER STORY. In GOING MY WAY, youthful Father Chuck O'Malley led a colourful life of sports, song, and romance before joining the Roman Catholic clergy, but his level gaze and twinkling eyes make it clear that he knows he made the right choice. After joining a parish, O'Malley's worldly knowledge helps him connect with a gang of kids looking for direction and handle the business details of the church-building fund, winning over his ageing, conventional superior. THE GLENN MILLER STORY is the moving true story of Glenn Miller, the legendary bandleader and trombonist, who swiftly rose to the big time with offers from Hollywood only to lose his life when his plane disappeared en-route to Paris.
Advantages: Innocent look at a famous musician, James Stewart is brilliant Disadvantages: Dull due to the story being to sanitized
...kind of like, so when I stumbled across "TheGlennMillerStory" I was intrigued to discover a bit more about the man famed for creating the big band sound, plus it starred one of my favourite actors, Jimmy Stewart.
Although I won't deny that I enjoy this film, as it is a pleasant insight into GlennMiller, I also won't deny that it is a hugely flawed film which without Jimmy Stewart taking the lead would have been utterly terrible. Made back in 1953, this biopic suffers from being over sanitized, failing to paint GlennMiller in anything but a positive light. Whilst this will please the legions of GlennMiller fans and those who enjoy films which are full of innocence and over sentimentality. This approach fails to deliver anything more than a dull, uneventful movie which will not appeal to anyone expecting a realistic biopic. Not...

...in Japan, Dubai, Russia, Uruguay and Spain.
Ray McVay and the GlennMiller Orchestra also have a web site that tells you where they are playing and where you can see them, this website is very helpful as you can also place requests for certain songs should you be going to one of their many concerts or if you want a dedication at the concert. Ray McVay loves to see the guests dance in the isles.
The concert is well preformed, with great information about GlennMiller and how the music came about. This Orchestra plays for around about an hour and a half, with a 30 minute break in the middle. The singers and the musicians are some of the best around and this is noticeable with they way that they play their instruments. All the musicians wear American Second World War uniforms.
Would I recommend?
I am little bios here as Ray Mc...
