...wake the sloth sleeping in the top – Sid. He is distressed to discover that his family have abandoned him and after a misunderstanding with a pair of rhinos, he runs into the back of Manfred.
We then see Diego and his pack of Sabre tooth tigers planning their attack on a human camp. The leader of the pack wants to kidnap and kill the human baby for revenge, but thanks to his mother the baby escapes and is left in the care of Sid and Manfred. Diego is sent to find the baby by his pack leader ‘Sodo’, or to be eaten himself. When Diego catches up to them, a very unusual adventure begins.
They are on a race to catch the humans before they get through ‘glacier pass’ and disappear on the other side. They encounter Dodo’s, rivers of lava, and, of course the pack of Sabres who still want the baby!

To save the baby the mother jumps into the river but the currents are so strong that she is carried away to her death but not before leaving the baby on the rocks on the side of the river. Diego the saber-tooth is just about to pounce when Manfred saves the baby and as a punishment orders Diego to guide them to the other side of the glacier where the humans are moving to. Although Diego agrees he has a secret agenda to take the baby and the mammoth to the rest of the saber tooth group for dinner.
Will the three animal godfathers succeed in their epic mission?
Will Diego the sabertooth betray Manfred the Mammoth and the human baby?
What will become of Sid the sloth?

...After reading several opinions here on Ciao about the Movie ‘Ice Age’ I decided to rent myself a copy a few weeks ago and was that impressed that I now house my very own DVD copy.
Ice Age is a computer animated feature length film not too dissimilar from the likes of Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Shrek and Monsters Inc.
~~~~~~WHAT’S THE MOVIE ABOUT?~~~~~~
The movie is set at the beginning of the ice age when all of the Earth’s animals are heading for warmer pastures, all except Manfred, a huge woolly mammoth who simply wants to be on his own.
He soon ends up running into a clumsy tree sloth named Sid who is pursued by two huge rhino’s with the intention of killing him for eating their salad. Manfred saves Sid’s life and is then relentlessly followed by the daft sloth wherever he goes.
