hope!Everyone knows the feeling. Returning to find your home broken into. Your possessions thrown around. Dresser drawers ransacked. Everything you own having the unmistakable feel of a stranger's fingers on them. The only thing worse than that is what isn't there: the things that once belonged to you that have been taken by creeps. But now is not the time to despair. There's no time for anger. There's only time to call Ban and Ginji. They're the Get Backers, and they live by a simple motto: If it was taken, we'll get it back. No one will be refused. (At least not until that huge tab they've run up gets paid off!).Prepare to meet your new heroes. The guys who will restore order where there is only chaos and justice where crime has run free. They're the Get Backers. They're one phone call away, and they're ready to take your case!

Get Backers has everything stereotypical of a great anime. Physical comedy, great stories, great character designs, a few episodes at the start nothing to do with the plot, loveable characters, and women with more curves than drunken vision. Unfortunately, it was made during the animation recession in Japan. Result: ouch. There are times in the series where Ginji looks like he's trying his very best to hold in a fart when he's supposed to be grinning. At times, characters aren't even looking at each other properly. But this is only for the first few episodes (thank goodness). And ADV's voice actors, I'm ashamed to say, have ruined yet another anime I'm afraid. Ginji and Ban are just about tolerable, Paul, the barman, takes centre stage, but after hearing just one of Natsumi's lines I wanted to choke her. Himiko and the girl featured in episode two are so boring I nearly fell asleep. And, by some miracle, the Japanese dubbing's even worse. My advice: mute your TV and read the subtitles. FOR YOUR OWN GOOD. Getting back to the animation, the animators seemed to have focussed too hard on trying to make the characters look beautiful (although a very important side of anime and manga) and focussed too little on making them move and still look beautiful. When the characters are standing still, especially in Ban and Ginji's case, you're fighting back your drool, but when they're moving you'd easily mistake them for a zombie. I was also surprised at the amount of shounen-ai hinting. Every time I type in 'Get Backers' on a Google image search, the amount of official art of Ban sticking his hand down Ginji's shirt is incredible! *Fan girls immediately flock to buy the DVD* >>;;; All in all I'd say this was a series strictly for fans. If you're a person that's heard of Get Backers and wants to get into it, read the manga first, because, unfortunately, the anime just doesn't do it any justice.

Advantages: Great Storyline from the manga Disadvantages: Nothing bad :)
Based on the popular manga, this is the animated version still carrying the legacy of the famed manga.
It's about two men with the simple wish of being rich. Midou Ban can make people hallucinate and has the gripping power of 200kg, while his partner Amano Ginji can generate electricity throughout his body.
The story is all about their escapades while retrieving the objective of their mission. Throughout their mission, they encounter new and old ... ...in one way or another.
The amazing aspect of this anime are the transitions of the story. Although short, you can quickly go with the flow. One more great feature is the amazing abilities that each character possesses, some of them are even superhuman. An example is Dr. Jackal Akabane Kuroudo, who's fond of killing and has an intense thirst for blood which he relates to Midou who he says is just the same as him.
As for the sounds, the BGM is always ...
