International football's most intense and long standing rivalries. A win was vital for an automatic place in Japan and Korea - Germany had lost only once in 60 World Cup qualifiers; this was to be England's ultimate test.Against all odds, England turned the soccer world upside down and sent shock waves through the International game, as they crushed Germany 5-1. This was the moment when the brightest young talent emerging from England's premier teams were to fulfil their potential and condemn the Germans to one of their worst World Cup defeats ever. The match was pulsating from start to finish. Just six minutes after kick-off, Jancker's goal inflicted a stunning blow to England's chances and made this mammoth task even greater. But within minutes Owen, our white-hot striker, scored the first of an historic hat-trick which revived English hopes. This was the catalyst for a memorable victory, as each player courageously rose to the challenge and contributed their part to an awesome and unforgettable England display.Such was the enormity of this result, even the team that achieved it found it hard to comprehend. After the game they sat silently amid a pile of muddied boots and sweat stained shirts and watched each goal again, cheering triumphantly, as they now witnessed what we had seen. A victory which was beyond our wildest dreams and expectations. Relive these glorious moments when history was made - it doesn't get any better than this!
Advantages: Relive the Excitment again and again and again Disadvantages: No extra as stated on the dvd

The running commentary from John Motson and Trevor brooking just adds to the hype and excitement when Owen restored the fans faith in the 12th minute with an equalizer that would later go on to make up his hat Rick. Being an avid football follower and supporter of Sunderland and England, you can probably guess that I'm feeling ever so slightly disappointed at the moment. So I decided to go home last night and cheer myself up by reliving that glorious day, you know the one, 1st September 2001 (I'm too young to remember 1966). The 2002 World Cup group 9 qualifier at the Munich stadium. The Vital game England needed to win to achieve automatic qualification. Germany 1 - Engeeerrlaaanndd Fivvvveee!!! I can still hear the chants now.
The starting whistle blows and the game kicks off. German striker, Janker takes advantage of England's ball watching defence and delivers what the England supporters believe to be the fatal blow in the 6th minute with the opening goal of the game. Then something amazing happened, something we hadn't seen for a long time and very rarely seen since. The England team played good professional football.
The running commentary from John Motson and Trevor brooking just adds to the hype and excitement when Owen restored the fans faith in the 12th minute with an equalizer that would later go on to make up his hat Rick. Good old Stevie G belts one in the back of the net smack bang on half time, and then it was Heskey 's turn to deliver the fifth and final goal for England. "Scholes again, now…. Heskeys to his left unmarked, Emile Heskey, could it be 5?..........YES IT IS!" John Motson.
Even Sven-Goran Eriksson was quoted saying, "it seems like a Dream, it's unbelievable", well Sven, it's not and I've got the DVD to prove it. This game should go down in history as one of the best world cup qualifiers of all time. It was fast paced electrifying professional football from start to finish, an in my opinion Stevie G's 30 yarder was the best goal of the game.
The layout of the DVD is superb. If you don't want to watch the full-length game for the 56th time (okay I'm exaggerating, it's only about ten) then you can pick from any of the 12 starting positions from the title screen. You can choose any of the goals - there are plenty of them, pre match build up, post match reactions, celebrations and more. Also included are the all important match line-ups and statistic, quite funny really, we only had 39% possession and still scored 5 goals.
I did find one let down with the DVD. It boasts of special features, which include player cams, player statistics, goal frenzy and under 21 highlights. I have been through this DVD from start to finish, in and out of every menu, but I am yet to find any of these.
I got mine given as a present many moons ago, but you can pick it up now from Amazon new for £1.50. So would I recommend this to potential buyers? Most definitely YES, and at that price go out and get it now before it becomes a collectors item and increases.
Runtime is approx 120 minutes and is exempt from classification.
Advantages: 5 goals for England Disadvantages: none
...The Germans and fans of germany wind their faces again and again and I payed attention below the English to fill the enormous crowds with complete notching sadness seen on the faces of the German! ! (Its exactly like a score on a stick.) In total, the credit for the victory goes to every possible player of England, as they played very well together as a team and received the ball better and better this first goal and fifth goal. better! The largest ... ...Owen, scoring 3 goals agaisnt Germany and it ends 5-1 after you were sitting there at the start striking an idea with stupid 1-0 penalties. And the best thing is that this same England game gave an excellent full-loading effort of play as Wild as the first half of the game began initially as 1-1 that qualifies directly with the poor basin - a penalty drawing. England precisely hammered Germany this day and this DVD is exactly the same as that day. ...

Advantages: Its England winning in Germany 5-1 Disadvantages: Not every performance is like this
...1st 2001 England travelled to Germany to play in the Olympic Stadium in Munich. This is a game England must win if they are to have any chance of gaining automatic qualification, however Germany have only ever lost once at home in World cup qualification (about 70 years) and this is the Germans they always beat us (ever since 1966!). History is against us but as always the English public demands victory.
The game begins on a late Saturday evening ... ...England: Seaman, G Neville, Ferdinand, Campbell, A Cole, Barmby, Scholes, Gerrard, Beckham, Heskey, Owen. Referee: Pierluigi Collina
Postscript:
Both England and Germany qualify for the World Cup, and normality returns as England crash out in the Quarter finals and Germany reach the final! ...

Advantages: we beat Germany 5-1 and its real Disadvantages: none its a dvd that conatains 5 goals aginst Germany, in Germany
Obviously one of the most memorable moments in English sporting history, when we beat the Germans 5-1 in thier own back-yard. The game starts in usual fashion with the Germans taking the lead . I remember watching this game live and saying to myself " here we go again". Then suddenly we are playing like Brazil !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those of you who were on mars when this happened the game was a qualifier for the 2002 World Cup Finals. The ... ...result so we could get to the world cup automatcally. Allthough we had other games left we knew that this would be a stern test, and the rivalry between the two nations would be one of like two old enemies meeting on a battlefield.
The dvd offers the full match live with commentary from the ever present John Motson and the simply can't believe it Trevor Brooking. There is interviews from the likes of Beckham and Owen. You can also witness the first ...

DVD Description
On September 1st 2001 the Olympic Stadium in Munich, Germany witnessed one of, if not, the, greatest performances from England's national football team since they beat Germany to win the World Cup in 1966. On this occasion they recovered from being a goal behind to tear into Germany, with Michael Owen scoring a hat-trick, to absolutely stun their old rivals. This disc relives that magical evening.
