Disadvantages: Doesn't include extra's like the Smeg Ups!

...This is a great DVD showcasing series 1 to 4 in a nicely presented box set, thats all twenty-four episodes including 'The End', 'Future Echoes', 'Balance Of Power', 'Waiting For God', 'Confidence And Paranoia', 'Me2'... If your looking for the added extra's and smeg up's of this popular TV comedy then unfortunately these aren't included. For the die hard Red Dwarf fans out there you might prefer to buy the separate series box sets with all the added extra's, but if all your looking for a nice compact DVD box set of the first 4 series (which are the best in my opinion) then its definately worth buying. At around the same price as buying two separate series DVD's its great value for money too.... Read review

Advantages: Slick
Disadvantages: Same old!

...eminent career when you have to do a lesser movie or two to pay the bills. Being a pretentious old sod at times (see DVD extras!), he hasn’t left anything to chance with his fastidious attention to detail and scene setting here as he does in all his films. But the film really needs it as the actually story-line is a familiar one and with out Nicholas Cages quality delivery and the odd ingenious con, it could have been very ordinary. The soundtrack is a real mix with even a George Formby track, maybe tucked in for an obscure bet with Ridleys film crew. But I don’t suppose that cheeky little in-joke from a singer from Scott some town would cheer up this immensely charmless and pungent director. The really touch of ingenuity here is the way Cages phobia ridden, hygene obsessed; nervous wreck of a man reflects Scott’s meticulous directing style... Read review

...This is much better than previous ones. It offers a better value and my 4 year old enjoys it. It has very moderate action and is suitable for kids. My child enjoys it and would recommend this as a good buy. Different episodes totaly five. The special effects are outstanding and even a 36 year old like me was watching it with my son and was actually rivetted to the screen. I think at about £19.99 it is a good value 5 box set DVD, has excellent packaging to ensure the kids are not going to dirty or smudge the discs. The characters are really funny and interesting and so is the plot of the story. What I do like about it is that there is hardly any swearing which is quite important considering it does have moderate violence. But that is expected from any in this genre and it is popular with kids! The Special effects are really excellent... Read review
