...This is an adorable film that my son adores and I too enjoy watching, so much so that I often try to influence his choice. Id not heard of Curious George until my brother bought the dvd for my son at christmas, at the same time we spotted the tv series was running and ever since my little boy has been hooked. The Film- The film kicks off before the tv series begins and you get to see how george comes to be living in the city. The story starts with "the man in the yellow hat" otherwise known as Ted who is trying to help save the museum he works for, in a desperate last attempt to draw in crowds Ted and the owner decide to search out a lost idol. Ted travels to africa(after being conned into buying an interesting yellow safari outfit) to find the idol not knowing that his bosses jealous son has altered his map. instead of finding... ...Matthew O'Callaghan's CURIOUS GEORGE was released in 2006, an animated adventure I stumbled upon at the theatre one Bacardi-induced evening. I vaguely remembered liking it when some months later, a Gordon's-induced evening, I found myself floating up and down the aisles of my local DVD rental shop in search of something lighthearted, considerably more lighthearted than the bottle of gin I was to finish that night. The bright yellow packaging of CURIOUS GEORGE must have been enough to appeal to my somewhat giddy state and somehow I found my way home with it tucked safely under my arm. I vaguely remembered liking it, again, when, after returning it to the rental shop a day late, and realising that the weekend was over, I switched to coffee and rented it a second time, after paying the late-fee, for a more neutral criticism thanks to... ...?George?s Marvellous Medicine? was the first of Roald Dahl?s stories which we read to our eldest son. It?s the story of a little boy who has a real stinker of a grandmother. She?s rude and scary and bosses him around all the time. One day George?s mum and dad have both gone out, leaving him alone with his Grandma. George has had enough of Grandma bullying him and so decides to cure her of her cantankerous behaviour with a special potion, which he?ll give her instead of her usual medicine. He finds an enormous saucepan in the kitchen and lugs it all around the house, essentially putting in a bit of everything he finds [lipsticks and canary seed included!]. He even makes sure he adds some brown paint so that it is the same colour as Grandma?s real medicine! He then boils it up to make sure that everything?s nicely mixed together before... Read review
