first days in England it was evident that the shy, homesick Irish boy was special. The talent he paraded, with his football wizardry, assured George of rapid promotion to Manchester United's first team. He remained there for that vintage side 's most dazzling years: an era that effectively ended in 1986 with the European Cup triumph in which he played an inspirational part.George Best the footballer was practically flawless. He had the assets to be out standing in any position. And aside from his legendary skill and speed, George was also deceptively tough, could tackle like a full back and launch sinuous sorties with which he destroyed defences single handedly.Yet, in the end he was unable to handle the goldfish bowl existence and fame which was trust upon him. This fascinating programme features spectacular football action and personal interviews with some of the greatest ions in the game.
football for the love of it, and gleefully enjoyed the fringe benefits (booze 'n' birds) which came with the territory, or he is the sad, shambolic, wife-beating alcoholic who frittered away his God-given gifts. Both perspectives are given a full airing inBest Intentions, an old Ulster TV documentary which has been re-released on video to coincide withBest, the recent biopic starring John Lynch as George Best. This isn't exactly a polished piece of film-making. Many of the interviews seem to have taken place in howling gales (you canšt listen to Dennis Law without being distracted by the way his hair dances in the wind), and the archive footage is very clumsily edited. Nevertheless, all the key witnesses are grilled. No, Bobby Charlton insists, there was never really any rift between him and the boy wonder--they were just very different personalities. His old manager Matt Busby remembers him as good-natured, quiet lad who used to stay behind on the training pitch to help the youngsters. Busby's relationship with the Belfast prodigy was akin to that of an ailing father with his lovable, reckless teenage son. Best vexed and exasperated Sir Matt, but helped him win the European Cup. As Best says, it was probably a fair trade-off.Everybody liked George, even his fiercest critics. His ex-wife Angie, his shaggy-haired old manager Bill McMurdo and former team-mates like Pat Jennings and Pat Crerand all trot out well-worn anecdotes about what a "smashing bloke" he is. George himself gives honest answers to questions on his drinking and playboy antics. If you're in any doubt why people make such a fuss of him, it only takes a few seconds of old footage of him prancing around opponents on the pitch to remind us that he really was the footballing genius the hype proclaims him to be. --Geoffrey Macnab

Advantages: Great value for money Disadvantages: Some better material has been missed out
...a coat you wear, twice a year". It's a very angry track.
5) One More Try
My second favourite George Michael track. It's a beautiful ballad and the tone is very odd. It's about giving up and the stages we go through when we love someone. When is the best time to just call it a day? Who knows but this song is trying to answer those questions. "Maybe, just one more try".
6) A Different Corner
A very unstructured ballad which seems to reflect the jarring feeling that being used by someone you thought loved you can bring. "I should go back to being lonely and confused". This was number one in 1985 and deservedly so.
7) Waltz Away Dreaming
Toby Bourke has the most fantastic, gritty, gravelly voice. It's everything George's isn't and the contrast works really well. This is almost a cover version in that Toby wrote it...

..."In New York City's war on crime, the worst criminal offenders are pursued by the detectives of the Major Case Squad. These are their stories"
This phrase starts off every episode of Criminal Intent and so it begins.
Law & Order has been a mainstay on US television for many years due to it's solid storylines and knack of packing a great story into 45-minutes. Crime is a multi-faceted part of life and therefore many stories can be told. Based on this Law & Order spawned a spin-off in 2001 entitled Criminal Intent. The show can be seen on Channel 5 as well as Hallmark on Sky Digital. But if you've missed the show then I'd definitely recommend it on DVD.
Law & Order takes a crime, investigates it and ends up with a trial. Criminal Intent focuses purely on the crime and the minds of those behind it. The two main characters are...

...I have been a great fan of the Corrs since their album in 1996. I agree that their music has changed over the years, nevertheless I still like the Irish band and their songs.
I went to see them in concert last year and it was just GREAT !!
Unfortunately Caroline was not on stage as she was pregnant and could not travel.
So, I have got all the CDs at home and it is no surprise that I bought DVDs.
The first one I bought was the best of the Corrs. It is a relevant choice if you are a big fan : if you are keen on the career of the band, you will realize that their music has changed as time went by. "Breathless" is different from "Runaway".
If you prefer a period than anotheir of their work, you'd rather stick to theirs CD albums.
On the cover, you can see the photos of the four members of the band : Andrea [ lead vocals, thin...
