...A team of crooks manage to pull of a jewel heist in London, only ending with one arrest and the disappearance of the jewels. George, (Tom Georgeson), is the only one that knows where the jewels are hidden, but is behind bars as Wanda Gershwitz (Jamie Lee Curtis), and her multi-language lover Otto, (Kevin Kline), turned him in, in hope of keeping the loot for themselves. George confides in Ken (Micheal Palin), who has a stuttering problem and takes an awfully long time to finish just one sentence, he promised George that he wouldn’t let anybody else know the whereabouts of the precious loot. ...Brilliant cast, script, direction. Fantastic humour and acting Its one of those films you can watch over and over again and still find funny.my friends and my family saw this movie several times when it came out and it was universally agreed to be one of the best modern comedies yet made.Cleese, who wrote the screenplay, stars as Archie Leach, an emotionally and sexually repressed English barrister whose life is thrown into upheaval by the appearance of Wanda--not the fish of the title, but a sexy American thief played by Jamie Lee Curtis. She and her gang--Cockney tough guy George (Tom Georgeson), stuttering animal rights advocate, Ken (Michael Palin), and ex-CIA assassin, Otto (Kevin Kline)--pull off a well-executed jewel heist but in the thieves' subsequent rush to double-cross one another and grab all the loot, George ends up in jail... ...This is a 1988 comedy and suspense movie starring John Cleese and Jamie Lee Curtis. The dirctor is Charles Crichton. Well where do you start explaining how funny this is, i have had to watch this about 11 times just because me and my partner was laughing so much that it made our stomach hurts and we kept missing pieces but also because its not your usual comedy with loads of cleshaes. The jokes are well proportioned and timed well the plot is airtight. Along the way, there are plenty of funny lines and gags, especially from Kline. The movie is centred around 4 actors whocome together to pull off a daring jewel robbery. Wanda poses as the girl of ringleader George to get his trust while her lover, Otto, pretends to be her brother. After the job Wanda and Otto betray George by calling the police on him – but they find themselves out... Read review
