Geoff Thompson - Three Second Fighter DVD

Advantages: Great british biker movie.
Disadvantages: Not to everyones taste.

...This DVD came out in June 2008, it is the story of 3 motorcycle couriers based in London. It stars Fred, Grouch and Tyg, who head to the welsh countryside one weekend to find an elusive hippy and his cannabis farm. But this ends up as a mission rather than a pleasant ride to Wales. The weekend is fuelled by booze, drugs, air guitaring and a run in with a bike gang. Fred is played by Gary Stretch who is an ex boxer, Grouch by Phil Daniels who you may know from Eastenders and finally Tyg is played by Geoff Bell. The bikes featured in the film are a Moto Guzzi ridden by Phil Daniels, a Triumph ridden by Gary Stretch and a Kawasaki ridden by Geoff Bell. Advantages: Excellent characters, script, story and cinematography
Disadvantages: Not everyone's cup of tea

...'s estate, Norland, since the law prevents his father Henry from leaving property to John's half-sisters. However, his father urges him on his deathbed to do the right thing by them. While initially having every intention of honouring his father's wishes, John allows himself to be quickly persuaded out of this by his unpleasant, grasping wife Fanny (Harriet Walter), and the couple move into Norland, declining to settle any money on Henry's second family. Mrs Dashwood and her three daughters - the sensible, controlled Elinor (Thompson), passionate, demonstrative Marianne (Winslet) and twelve-year-old tomboy Margaret (Emilie Francois) - are hence forced to vacate their home and move, thanks to the charity of a relative, the boisterous Sir John Middleton, to a "cottage" (actually quite a substantial residence!) in Devonshire. Advantages: Great cast, sizzling action

...Please note: This is a review of the film and NOT the DVD. It must be awful living in the United States, especially since the Second World War. There always seems to be some kind of threat to their way of life, be it middle-eastern terrorists or previously, communism on a grand scale. Red Dawn, made in 1984 by director John Milius, pitches directly onto the kind of fears instilled into the American psyche by a succession of governments over the last 60 years. The story follows a small group of young men and (two) women of high-school age who escape from an ordinary town in the backwaters of America after a Russian-backed, communist invasion involving Cuban and Nicaraguan forces.
