...The third Star Trek outing sees Captain Kirk risking everything along with his crew to find and return Spock to the planet Vulcan so that his alive soul can be put in his dead body and he can be “resurrected”. Spock had been sent to the Genesis planet at the end of the previous film and the main story takes place on the planet. One good thing I like about the story is the way that Spock evolves in line with the newly created and developing Genesis planet. This film was also directed by Leonard Nimoy (Spock) which may explain why he is not in the story himself too much!...

Advantages: Captures the concert well Disadvantages: Not enough coverage of the other acts
...This is one of the few live DVDs avaialble that capture the majesty of Genesis P-Orridge's Psychic TV. It offers two performance by the legend himself - one as Psychic TV, the other as Thee Majesty (a spoken word performance with incidental music). The event, in London also featured a number of other bands such as Question Mark and the Mysterians and Billy Childish's Thee Headcoats. Even though their tracks have been cut down to one for the DVD its a great introduction to these other artists - Billy Childish in particular is worth checking out. The extra features are a little sparse but include a collage of back-stage snippets - see if you can spot Genesis and the magic number 23 in these as well as a short converstaion with Quentin Crisp....

Advantages: Daleks, Tom Baker, Davros, Skaro, Nuclear War! Disadvantages: How can perfection have disadvantages.
...Doctor Who Genesis of The Daleks.
This is the best Doctor Who story ever! Stunning, well acted, well written and the answer to the question of the Daleks creation. We see the introduction to Davros, the conclusion to the 1,000 year war between the Khaleds and Thals and the beginningd the Doctor's greatest enemy.
Tom Baker is at his very best in this. Michael Wisher as Davros is chillingly evil and menacing. Characteristics instilled in his Daleks.
The Doctor's speech when he has the chance to destroy the Daleks totally, "Do I have that right", is the finest piece of scripting in any Dr who story written.
This is pure science fiction poetry and a must have for any Dr Who fan. This story is the one you must show to anyone wanting to see what Dr Who was and is all about.
As with all Dr Who dvd's there are extras. But the cast...
