Advantages: Funny, Believable, Just Great! Disadvantages: Nothing
...I only recently started watching Gavin and stacey after my mum and younger brother kept telling I had to watch it because it was really funny and just a simply brilliant British comedy series.
It is simply a story of how a nice boy from Essex meets a nice girl from Wales. Gavin and Stacey speak every day on the phone for 6 months, the first episode is their first meeting. They each bring along a mate (Nessa and Smithy) to this first meeting and the intertwined tales of love, friendship and family begin.
So who is everyone?
Gavin is a nice, sweet lad who likes spending time in the pub trying beers from around the world with his best mate Smithy. He works in computers and lives in Essex with his Mum and Dad. The lovable thing about Gavin is he is just an ordinary lad... which really works, he isn't over romantic, hard or brilliant...

...This award winning comedy is brought to you by the stunning writing team, James Corden and Ruth Jones. Their combined talent has brought us a wonderful new comedy series.
Jointly set in Barry, south Wales and Essex, the title characters are probably the least interesting in the programme. Nessa and Smithy as the best friends, played by Jones and Corden are hilarious characters, and you can already hear people spurting Nessa quotes.
Rob Bryden, as Uncle Bryn is one of the most wonderful characters to have been on TV recently, and by far the funniest thing he's ever done.
Alison Stead puts in a hilarious performance as Gavin's mother, Pamela.
Look out for Dave and Doris, brilliant smaller parts.
The beauty of this series is its charm and unoffensive humour. Real characters you can relate to and it has now become fairly cheap to buy...

Advantages: The DVD gives three extra scenes, subtitles, yours forever Disadvantages: UK prices always higher then Americas!
...is for you. Edward Norton is brilliant and more than believable. Edward Furlong as his younger brother is more vulnerable and easily taken in by it all. Stacey Keach was excellent which is something coming from me because I hated him and his acting when he was in the TV series Mike Hammer.

****************
This is a brilliant film, although it is very disturbing and I would suggest that adults only watch it. Even then you might find some scenes very disturbing and I warn you now that it is NOT for the feint hearted. I was captivated from beginning to end. I found the characters believable and for this reason all the more disturbing.
The filming is excellent with good use of camera angles and black & white for flashback purposes. The direction was also top class as too...
