Disadvantages: not funny, humour very simple and mostly slapstick or toilet houmour.

and has ruined the image of Mr Bean for me. At first I was curious and quite excited - I had hoped the comedy would be on the same lines as the original but I was wrong. The soundtrack is mostly orchestral with symbols, drums and flutes to emphasise dramtic turn arounds and Beans thoughts. The vocals, as the televised original series is basically mumbles and whimpers with the odd 'ooooo' sound. Another thing that irritates me is the fact that they have tried to modernise him and have given him a girl friend, not that that ever get together, lord no, what would happen to teddy, where would he sleep!? Irma Gobb is more a romantic interst whom Bean tries to impress, but rarely suceeds. In this single DVD volume you get 8 episodes, each lasting about 15minutes in length and include; 'In The Wild', 'Missing Teddy', 'No Parking', 'Bean's Bounty ...

National trust membership - a great investment

Advantages: cheap days out once a member, enjoyable and educational at the same time
Disadvantages: locations often mean a car is needed

card, a car sticker, the handbook of places you can visit and a magazine every 4 months. The big selling point is of course all the places it entitles you to visit. Recently we've taken to planning our holidays around which National Trust properties we can visit, initially as a money-saving plan but now because we've enjoyed the ones we've visited so much. For example, if you were to go to Kent for a weekend you would find you were within driving distance of a fabulous castle, Rudyard Kipling's house, a charming 14th century moated manor house and Winston Churchill's home, to name just a few. If you found yourself on the other side of the country in Cornwall you could visit several stunningly beautiful gardens, an amazing Victorian house and a tin mine, not to mention enjoy free car parking at lots of coastal locations. Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock Let Music Play Vol1 DVD

Advantages: great music, acting and storyline
Disadvantages: only two episodes on this one dvd, and they cut the tune!

Isn't it wonderful when those child hood memories come back to you, and whats even better is when they are in snazzy updated (graphics and sound wise anyway) version, such as this dvd. Fraggle rock, as most can remember was another genius creation from Jim Henson. For those out of the loop, or are lucky enough to be too young to remember, he's the same man who is responsible for the existence of the muppets, sesame street and of course - the fraggles!
