the gang are still as daftly charming as ever. After the birth of Emma, Rachel comes to terms with being a mother surprisingly well. It's how everyone else deals with it that makes things interesting. Joey's accidental proposal creates weird friction between him and Ross, who breaks his finger throwing the show's first ever punch. Monica becomes desperately broody and attempts all manner of convoluted ways of persuading Chandler (unfortunately he inadvertently bankrupts them in a move to Tulsa). Phoebe, on the other hand, occupies herself in the dating game, holding on to Mike (Paul Rudd) in the longest guest star relationship anyone's ever had. Other surprise guests this year include Freddie Prinze Jr as an overly sensitive nanny (in the 200th episode), Christina Applegate as another of Rachel's sisters and Jeff Goldblum playing himself on the set of another movie on which Joey is trying to get a break. As always the sparks occasionally fly between Rachel and Ross, while the others manage to strain their own relationships to the max. The real reason for watching now is the one-off kooky scenarios in which they--or rather Joey--get into. His endless dating finally sees him stuck for remembering if he's already slept with a girl; he botches an attempt at eyebrow waxing; and he manages to make Chandler think that Monica wants a breast enhancement. A 10th series and potential movie spin-off were announced well before the year was over, meaning six very rich actors will be supplying the fun for some time yet to come. --Paul Tonks

~Starring~
Dave Lister.
(Craig Charles).
Begins his journey as a tone deaf, idle, useless, curry loving, carefree or should that be careless, scruffy slob.
But his character develops
Arnold J Rimmer.
(Chris Barrie)
Arnie is the most cowardly, back stabbing, regimented, and pathetic life form to ever call itself human. But Arnie, or big man to his friends, has the biggest transformation of them all because he ends up becoming Ace Rimmer the multiverses greatest hero, what a guy!
Cat.
(Danny John-Jules)
The offspring of an idiot and a cripple, he is the most vain creature in all of the multiverses.
His character never really changes.
Dwayne Dibbley.
Cats alter ego, the geakiest, (if there is such a word) squarest being to ever exist. With Zero fashion sense ...
I have always enjoyed watching these episodes. Chandler and Monica have just got engaged so obviously the key focus is on them. In the first episode they all plan to go out for dinner but due to things happening between Ross and Rachel their plans are ruined. In the second episode they start planning for the wedding, Phoebe moves into Ross' place and Joey finds out a secret about Rachel. In the third one Monica wants Phoebe to give up her long time family secret but in the end it turns out not to be such a family secret. In the last on this DVD Rachel wants to hire a new assistant but lets her feelings get in her way. Some very comical moments as usual. ...
Advantages: distracts the children Disadvantages: not funny, humour very simple and mostly slapstick or toilet houmour.
and has ruined the image of Mr Bean for me. At first I was curious and quite excited - I had hoped the comedy would be on the same lines as the original but I was wrong.
The soundtrack is mostly orchestral with symbols, drums and flutes to emphasise dramtic turn arounds and Beans thoughts. The vocals, as the televised original series is basically mumbles and whimpers with the odd 'ooooo' sound. Another thing that irritates me is the fact that they have tried to modernise him and have given him a girl friend, not that that ever get together, lord no, what would happen to teddy, where would he sleep!? Irma Gobb is more a romantic interst whom Bean tries to impress, but rarely suceeds.
In this single DVD volume you get 8 episodes, each lasting about 15minutes in length and include; 'In The Wild', 'Missing Teddy', 'No Parking', 'Bean's Bounty ...
Features the episodes 'The One Where No One Proposes', 'The One Where Emma Cries', 'The One With The Paediatrician' and 'The One With The Sharks'.
