somehow the gang are still as daftly charming as ever. After the birth of Emma, Rachel comes to terms with being a mother surprisingly well. It's how everyone else deals with it that makes things interesting. Joey's accidental proposal creates weird friction between him and Ross, who breaks his finger throwing the show's first ever punch. Monica becomes desperately broody and attempts all manner of convoluted ways of persuading Chandler (unfortunately he inadvertently bankrupts them in a move to Tulsa). Phoebe, on the other hand, occupies herself in the dating game, holding on to Mike (Paul Rudd) in the longest guest star relationship anyone's ever had. Other surprise guests this year include Freddie Prinze Jr as an overly sensitive nanny (in the 200th episode), Christina Applegate as another of Rachel's sisters and Jeff Goldblum playing himself on the set of another movie on which Joey is trying to get a break. As always the sparks occasionally fly between Rachel and Ross, while the others manage to strain their own relationships to the max. The real reason for watching now is the one-off kooky scenarios in which they--or rather Joey--get into. His endless dating finally sees him stuck for remembering if he's already slept with a girl; he botches an attempt at eyebrow waxing; and he manages to make Chandler think that Monica wants a breast enhancement. A 10th series and potential movie spin-off were announced well before the year was over, meaning six very rich actors will be supplying the fun for some time yet to come. --Paul Tonks

Advantages: series 5,6 Disadvantages: series 7,8 same old jokes, characters get more annoying
...Series 5-8 of the smash hit comedy series created and written by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor.
Three million years into deep space, lister continues to eat curry. If you haven't seen series1-4 it's recommended you see this first (check out my review 'classic Red Dwarf series1-4') although I personally feel it loses it's way after series 6 it's worth buying just for series 5,6. I feel series 7,8 just plays on the same old things, rimmer is persecuted non stop and Kryten becomes extremely neurotic.
The Episodes were originally released in DVD in a new digitally enhanced format with loads of CGI and bits missing. Thanks to an Internet petition this classic series has finally hit the shelves, if you're expecting Extras you'll be disappointed and should probably buy the individual series. If you are looking for Red Dwarf in all it's original glory then this is for you, as a little reminder of what to expect here is an episode by episode, series by series review.

Advantages: The great performances of Ted Danson & Shelley Long Disadvantages: None!
...a breath of fresh air in the series whilst those two sparring drinking buddies played by George Wendt (Norm) and John Ratzenberger (Cliff) complimented the diverse blend of characters.
Cheers first season was a knockout and a thriving start to the shows history. Every episode was fabulous with superb comic playing from all the cast involved. Most of the amusing situations that alternated between different characters in the show were all (mostly) set in the Cheers bar. The titles of the season one episodes are as follows:
Ep1: Give Me A Ring Sometime
Ep 2: Coach's Daughter
Ep 3: Sam's Women
Ep4: The Tortelli Tort
Ep 5: Sam At Eleven
Ep 6: Any Friend Of Diane's
Ep 7: Friends, Romans And Accountants
Ep 8: Truce Or Consequences
Ep9: Coach Returns To Action
Ep 10: Endless Slumper
Ep 11: One For The Book
Ep 12: The Spy Who Came...
