American comedies usually bore me after a while. I watch a few episodes and then it gets annoying. My big brother used to watch friends all the time and that's when I got into it. It isn't as repetitive as some other American sitcoms.
Friends is a sitcom about six friends living in New York, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, Ross, Monica and Rachel.
Phoebe is a hippy guitarist. She is vegetarian and has many strong beliefs (although sometimes these are pretty stupid). She also dresses pretty wacky. Phoebe my favourite girl in friends. Throughout the ten series we see Phoebe divorce her gay ice dancing husband, fall in love with a scientist, and then finally marry Mike. The rest of the characters often have to be careful around Phoebe so as not to set her off moaning about her beliefs. For example when Joey works at a Christmas Tree shop and she does not agree with dead Christmas trees being used as decoration.
Joey is my other favourite character. He is an actor on the soap Days Of Our Lives. He is always doing auditions which lead to funny situations. Joey is not the most clever person. He often come out with hilarious comments. For most of the time Joey lives with Chandler across from Rachel and Monica's apartment.
Chandler is the sarcastic one. He is sarcastic about everything. One of the best episodes is where he is not allowed to be sarcastic. He does some office job that everyone forgets about. He eventually falls in love with Monica.
Ross is the scientist. He is a Paleontologist which means he works with dinosaurs. He is Monica's brother and Rachel's on-off boyfriend. Ross lives in an apartment on his own. He seems very unfortunate with women and has been married several times.
Monica is a chef. She is a cleanaholic and has to have everything perfect. When she was younger she was obsessed with food and was fat. She is Ross's sister and Chandlers girlfriend. Monica has been friends with Rachel since high school.
Rachel is addicted to fashion. She entered the series as a spoilt girl who had run away from her wedding. She turned up in the coffee shop in her wedding dress. She always wanted to find a job in fashion and eventually ends up working at Ralph Lauren.
I am totally addicted to Friends (along with many other people). I was really sad when the final series ended but at least I can watch it every day on E4!

Good overview of the characters, although I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD features. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good?
