This is one of the best movies I've seen in the last year. A friend borrowed me a DVD with this movie, but I was never expected to have such a great movie experience. Honestly, I've never heard of this movie, but now it becomes one of my favourites. The idea of the screenplay is absolutely briliant. It's like a 10 times better "Back to the future". It really makes you think of what really means to change the future, not by travelling back in time (because this is not the idea of the movie), but connecting with an other dimension. This is the basic idea: time are relative and there are different dimensions of the Universe. In fact, you do not travel in time, but find a "door" to another dimension/time. And you really became frightened by what you can do to the present when you change the past. In fact, a small change in past can modify dramatically the present. It's like an "avalanche". And it's better not to start it. Of course, the movie has a happy end, but it could easily have a terrible end. The difference is made by the director of the movie. But for you, as a viewer, this movie makes you think further and further... Dennis Quaid is brilliant, as well as Jim Caviezel or the others. There aren't big names from Hollywood (except Dennis Quaid). But they play incredible good. There are not many visual or special effects. But, still, the movie is great, it makes you think at it long after it is finished. Of course, everyone can think is free to have an other opinion about the movie. But, far, this movie is better than many, many Oscar winners movies from Hollywood. And it deserves, at least one, for the "Best original screenplay" !! Maybe you can find it a little boring at the beginning, it starts very slow, but this slow start helps you to enter the movie "atmosphere". But, gradually, the action becomes more complicated (in the "good" way ...) and attractive. Soon, you are completely addicted to the action. And, after 110 minutes you do not realize how fast time passed. Definitively, if you really like intelligent screenplays (not something like "crash!boom!bang!", with fights, karate, muscles, etc), you'll love this movie. Of course, you should be very attentive to details, otherwise you'll lose some important information. But, anyhow, you'll love it !!
I am not telling you much about the action itself and I also recommend you not to watch the trailer, because you are going to lose the whole surprise of the movie. In my opinion, you don't need to tell the story here (not, at least for this movie), but just to make the others to understand that this is a movie not to be missed !!
