As most of us know, A man's best friend is a Dog.But in this case that saying is not qiute so true. A young boy has his heart set on another best friend "Willy" the Killer Whale.
When he was little Jesse (played by Jason James Richter( was abandoned by his own mother and as a result of this has spent the majority of his life either living on the streets and in childrens homes. Jesse gets himself caught Spraypainting the glass windows where "Willy" is situated.As a result of this Jesse is made to clean the mess up that he has made returning every day until it is complete. Meanwhile, a couple looking to for a young boy to share their home with them comes to his rescue and takes his out of the childrens home.Jesse is not all that keen that this is going to be a good thing although the couple do seem like nice enough people. Then something really strange happens. Jesse seems to have made a new friend whilst returning to complete his duties to clean up his mess, And yes that friend is "Willy" Although at the same thme as making a friend, he has also made and enemy..Rae Lindleey (played by Lori Petty)"Willy's" Trainer. Jesse then does something that amazes even Rae as he teaches "Willy" to do all kinds of trick's, something that Rae has never benn able to sucseed in doing. They then decide to hold show's to raise some money but when "Willy" refuses to respond the Marine owner get's really angry and decides to kill "Willy" and earn his money through the insurance. Jesse is really upset with what the marine owner wants to do and decides there's only one way to stop his best friend from being killed. This is when the adventure begins and Jesse and his friends try to "FREE WILLY"

Good summary of the plot, but would have liked a little more on the extras as I love this film and would like to buy it :) Too bad the little Thames Whale didnt have the same happy ending eh? :(
