***Why watched A Nightmare on Elm Street 1***
I originally first watched this film when I was younger, I can't remember how old I was but the film was first released in 1984.
As an avid horror fan I have always tried to keep up to date with any new releases and this film has led to several sequels and a mini-series.
My parents originally had a copy of the film on VHS but last month I bought myself a copy on dvd after reading some reviews stating that the film was being remade for release in 2010.
I haven't watched it for a while, to be honest I probably last watched it around 10 years ago, but I could not wait to watch it when it was delivered.
The film is written and directed by an iconic man, Wes Craven. For those have you that have only recently become horror fans you may have more recently come across Wes Craven with the release ...
Advantages: A few good scenes Disadvantages: Lost the plot - skip this sequel
***Why watched A Nightmare on Elm Street 2***

After the ambiguous ending in the first film I was unsure where the story would continue in the second film. Luckily for me I watched I pretty much was able to watch the films consecutively.
This film was introduced in 1985 (1 year after the first), but I probably watched both of them in the late 80's.
