Even though I am not a major fan of Frank I have a huge liking for this album and thought I had to tell you about it. I only own this album as I mostly download my songs but as I was going to buy ?Love Ire and Song? but decided on this one instead which i was greatly impressed by.
Who Is Frank Turner?
I wouldn?t know why anyone wouldn?t have heard of him but for those who haven?t Frank Turner is a Folk song writer and singer who was a former vocalist for the punk band Million Dead. He was born in 1981 and has released several successful albums including the compilation album ?The First Three Years?. Frank became known when he joined Million Dead in 2001 and stayed with them for four years releasing two albums; after they spilt he decided to become solo and has done many shows around London.

Frank Turner has been busy in his first three years travelling all over the country with a guitar in hand playing his own type of folk-punk.
A few years ago, Million Dead hardcore group were loved by many fans who followed them everywhere getting into fights and drinking till they dropped. When the group of four decided to split many fans were horrified that they were losing a quality music band. Lot's of tears were shed, but Frank Turner decided to keep the legend going. Only this time, he'd do it on his own. So Frank Turner set off on a journey to launch his solo career. When Frank Turner left Million Dead, he expressed a desire to keep playing songs and to keep touring, but didn?t want to be part of a band any longer. Three years later ? hence the title ? after a couple of EPs and a couple of studio albums, we have this collection. ?The First Three Years? contains the tracks from both the EPs as well as collecting together material he recorded with other artists early in his solo career and a few other random tracks.
The album begins with the title track from his second EP, ?The Real Damage?. It?s an interesting song that rather worryingly proves to be an accurate reflection of far too many nights in my own life recently and it?s such a vivid story of life that most people would find something in the lyrics that they can identify with.
