Francie And Josie (DVD)

Great DVD for Josie fans I prefer Musical Stories.

Advantages: Energetic, fun entertainment for under 5's
Disadvantages: All about Josie, I prefer the other balamory dvds.

If you've never seen an episode of Balamory it features stories based around the lives of seven colourful and cheerful adult characters living in Balamory. Josie Jump is one of these characters-the gym teacher who is always full of energy. She never sits still! Josie loves to dance and run and jump, and play sport. There are three Balamory episodes in this DVD all featuring Josie Jump. Couch Potato Poor Edie McCredie is worn out after rushing around doing chores for Archie, who is just being lazy and eating too many biscuits! They call on Josie Jump to help them restore their energy levels. The Ballet Josie has a great idea for a ballet performance at the nursery. Spencer is on hand to build some scenery, but how can they get it into the nursery without spoiling the surprise? Tantrums Things keep going wrong ...

Review of Balamory - Jump With Josie (DVD)

Josie Rocks!

Advantages: Excellent music, Rachael Leigh Cook - miaoww!
Disadvantages: Not exactly hilarious

Josie and the Pussycats centres around an all-female pop/rock trio who are desperately trying to make it big in the music business. At the start of the film we see their humble beginnings, playing gigs in a bowling alley (!) hoping that maybe one day they will somehow be spotted by some music industry head honcho and given the record deal and stardom they crave so badly. Well guess what - one day, on the way home from another ‘gig’, that very thing happens and they are immediately signed up by the head of one of the biggest record labels in the world (played masterfully by Alan Cumming). However not all is as it seems, as it soon emerges that The Pussycats are purely being used by the record label to brainwash the minds of the worlds youth into buying various consumer goods – including their own records – by ...

Josie and the Pussycats - Region 1 DVD

Advantages: Good picture and sound, excellent features.
Disadvantages: Documentary could be a bit more detailed.

the film and are mostly forgettable. 3 music videos are included on the DVD, the best one by far being ?3 Small Words? by Josie and the Pussycats themselves. This is a fantastic song and the full-length video is really well put together ? clips from which can be seen in the films opening credits. The remaining 2 videos are by the other band featured in the film, Dujour. ?Backdoor Lover? and ?Dujour around the World? are both featured heavily in the film, and the videos, like the songs themselves, are played more for laughs than anything else. Finally, we have the obligatory Theatrical Trailer, a nice set of Production Notes and some Cast & Filmmakers Biographies. The disc is also DVD-ROM enhanced, so you can see some extra features and different menus when you play the DVD on your computer?s DVD-ROM drive (again, this has not been included ...
