Hmmm, I must say I was a little disappointed after watching this film, I guess I am a little behind, watching in 2006 but I was still expected a little bit more from what is known to be a British classic!
The film begins with Hugh Grant, (Charles in the movie), turning up extremely late to his best friends wedding where he is best man. He commits all the classical things a best man should NOT do like forgetting the rings at home. I guess there is a little humour but nothing stomach squeezing.
The most disappointing thing I found about this comedy is the fact there I did not actually feel there was a significant story line or any actual substance. I felt that most the time I was trying to count how many weddings had actually taken place to ensure I hadn't missed anything that funny and in anticipation of the humorous part. But I was thoroughly disappointed when the final wedding came and it still felt like there should have been more action.
To conclude, I really don't think this movie is worth all the hype that it actually gets. Bt then again, I'm sure when it first came out it was actually funny, maybe I'm just too young for to understand, hmmm.
