I watched Forrest Gump perhaps two weeks or three weeks ago, really a little bit behind than everyone else, maybe. I don't really want to watch old-movie because I love great effects and masterly shot movie, but i am happy i took the chance to watch it. So worth it. I can feel my tears running down my cheek every single time I re-watch it.
Forrest Gump is about this guy who is a little bit retarded, but as I see it, he is actually very clever. He is, i must say, very innocent human being in the cruel and nasty world. So, he gives colors and opens people's perspective of life and happiness. When he was a little kid, he couldn't walk properly and he had to use electric feet. But, he never complains and his mother [who is a single parent] taught him to be strong and never listens to anyone who talk him down. Forrest has no father. He has this one best friend and crush, Jenny. They met when they were little kids and they keep being friends until college. When he was little, some bullies chased him and he had to keep running although he used these electric feet. But, however, when the bullies are close enough to get him, the electric feet fell off and Forrest can run by his own feet and he ran very fast. And since that day Forrest always appreciate his legs and his ability to run. The movie continues with Forrest who always loves Jenny until they were separated, but Jenny responded like a best-friend. Of course, there are some impossible moments in the movie because in the movie Forrest is very very lucky. Since the electric feet fell off his legs, his legs have always gotten him luck. He can go to college because his ability to run and he joins the football team although he doesn't really understand what football is. In his long lucky journey, he made histories like no-one could every believe he did.
The movie is about how someone can be succeed and falls in love even when his brain activity is low. It is touching and brilliantly directed by Robert Zemeckis. Tom Hanks also played wonderfully in this movie and brings the character alive in a very funny yet lovely way. It had won 6 Academy Awards. I really recommend people to watch it, even i have seen many bad reviews about it, i still this movie gives you some lessons about life in a different point of view.
