...I tried to figure out why this movie wasn't scary. I've got an active imagination and am skittery by nature so I'm always seeing boogeymen everywhere. The idea of someone stalking me in the woods should have me clinging to my seat, right? Well...in theory. In practice, The Blair Witch Project is less scary than that Girl Scout sleep over I had when I was nine, and more childish.
The premise: 3 students head into the woods at the request of Heather the Filmmaker, in order to find something out about the Blair Witch, a mythical being who killed some children, or maybe some men, a long time ago. Heather doesn't really believe (or does she? it's never that clear, and frankly, not a big issue), and the guys are just there for her to order around, until everyone gets lost and they start seeing creepy sticks and stones outside their tent...

Advantages: Non-pretentious, light-hearted fun Disadvantages: Poor extras let down the whole DVD

It's the "Naked Gun" of the genre and whilst it's nowhere near that league it raises a fair few laughs, a few more childish smirks and ultimately leaves you feeling like you've had a good 90 minutes or so.

Only of course nothing is taken seriously - first to die is ex-Baywatch babe Carmen Electra, including the notorious scene where her clothes are somehow ripped off as she makes her escape. Scenes like that are where DVD freeze framing comes into its own, of course ....
As the group...

Advantages: All simpsons episodes are good, I suppose. Disadvantages: Not very scary.
...at all and were all science fiction. I didn't really like this episode but my little sister enjoyed it so maybe others will.
Treehouse of Horror VII
This episode was one I found particularly un-scary. By now you probably realise that the Treehouse of Horror episodes lack what the title claims they have - Horror!
Treehouse of Horror XII
Gypsy curses, demented computers and wizards... seems like a wierd mix to me! The creators of The Simpsons must be running out of ideas. The episodes keep getting worse and worse with new every season.
Animation
The animation is different in every episode. The episodes span over 8 years (seasons 6 to 13) so the newer ones will obviously have better animations.
Overall Thoughts
This DVD is a good idea, I think, as many people like the Treehouse of Horror episodes but it is just...
