A 12 year old boy David, living in Fort lauderdale Florida a normal kid like any other in 1978 has to pickup his younger brother from a friends house. He gets scared by his brother in a small prank and right after that moment he falls into a ravine and is unconscious. As he wakes up he is in 1986,where did the years go? He manages to make contact with cops who do a check on him and by surprise see a 12 year old missing boy as he was then. The boy is taken back to his parents home to discover an elderly couple live there and he freaks out and wishes to find his real folks. The parents and the boy reunite and scientists eventually do science experiments on him to find out what has happened with him. This goes on to lead to the boy sending out strange signals from his brain and a voice keeps calling to the boy which then leads him to a flying UFO that the scientists have stored at the high security base. Dave is scared as he does'nt know what is going on,he also meets his younger brother Jeff who appears a lot older in his teens physically compared with his older brother.Times have changed and the two brothers have missed out a lot since Dave disappeared and Dave learns that his brother is not so bad a person as he thought he would be while he was a small brat in 1978. The top secret science and the family conflict with each other, what will Dave do? He has no choice but to stay where he is and even that is a risk to him as scientists will want to further study him for the rest of his life. Dave manages to make contact with the UFO and they both rely on each other to fix things for the better, even though there is a chance Dave might never make it back. I watched this as a kid and even now I think it was a fun and exciting movie of its time and is a good family movie. The special effects are what makes the movie exciting,as well as the drama that unfolds with Dave and his hectic time in a new time.

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.

I haven't seen this movie in years.. I do seem to remember a very cute animal / creature of some desciption (?) I wouldn't mind watching it again. Don't let the comments about the review get you down, just try to learn from them and read lots of reviews in your preferred topic. Wolf x

Advantages: Original story, nice music, character growth, something for all the family Disadvantages: Special Effects dated by todays stanards (but they do hold up)
