Review of Norah Jones - Live In New Orleans DVD by  vassilis73

Advantages: Norah Jones LIVE
Disadvantages: It's only sixtyseven minutes

...The DVD "Norah Jones - Live In New Orleans" features an intimate concert performance recorded in New Orleans in August 2002. Who is She Norah before she became famous was a member of a group called Laszlo. Later she joined a NYC groove band Wax Poetic. Then success knocked at her door as she is signing with Blue Note Records in 2001 and building a buzz around her young and the same time, mature voice. In February 2002 Norah released her debut album 'Come Away With Me'. "Come Away With Me" won eight Grammy at the 45th Annual Grammy Awards at Madison Square Garden in New York City! Norah won five awards - Album of the Year, Record of the Year (for "Don't Know Why"), Best New Artist, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for "Don't Know Why") and Best Pop Vocal Album. In addition, "Don't Know Why" won three awards for Song... Read review

Things to do in New Orleans when you're undead
Review of Dracula 2001 DVD by  Heidavey

Advantages: A great twist on an old tale
Disadvantages: bit of an anticlimax

...period films. He goes to New Orleans to find her and finds it is his kind of place. Dracula, played by Gerard Butler is very dashing but doesn’t quite have the edge to him, I feel. Produced by Wes Craven (Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, Wishmaster) this is not a bad film at all with some very clever ideas. Writer’s Joel Soisson (producer of Prophecy movies and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure) and Patrick Lussier (of who this is his debut writing role) have really created a very good feel to this film and a very, very good twist in the origin of Dracula. Patrick Lussier also directs this film and it is only his second directing, after Prophecy 3. He has created some really exciting shots and some clever use of special effects, which make this film look absolutely gorgeous. There are some very vivid colours... Read review
