Advantages: Great action film Disadvantages: Some improbable moments
Air Force 1 is the 1997 film starring HarrisonFord and directed by Wolfgang Peterson which takes place mainly on the President of the United States' jet plane, named Air Force 1. It is a well filmed, praised film which pits an on form HarrisonFord against terrorists. It received 2 Oscar nominations and is another tick in the plus column of Ford's films.
President James Marshall (Ford) is an ex-soldier. When Air Force 1 is hijacked with him on it, he reverts back into soldier mode to try and save everyone on the plane, including his family. The film has a very basic plot, but is filmed with high intensity to give maximum impact. Peterson does well in controlling this film and not letting it become too cheesy.
There are moments where the improbably occur, particularly regarding some of the technical specifications of the plane ...

DVD Description
Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) is an average family man in Seattle who heads up the hi-tech security team at his local bank. His life is turned upside-down when his wife (Virginia Madsen) and two kids are abducted. Now the kidnappers--led by the ruthless Bill Cox (Paul Bettany)--are asking Jack to use his expert computer skills to obtain $100 million. At first he goes along with it, but soon turns the tables on them, opting to get his family back and bring the bad guys to justice. Richard Loncraine (WIMBLEDON) successfully infuses an old-fashioned actioner with a twist of 21st Century techno-fear. In Andrew Davis' suspenseful THE FUGITIVE, Harrison Ford stars as surgeon Dr. Richard Kimble, a man wrongfully accused and convicted of his wife's murder. While being transported to prison, there is a massive crash, allowing him to escape into the night. Hot on his tail is tough U.S. marshal Sam Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) who will stop at nothing to get his man. Kimble manages to evade capture on several occasions by transforming himself into a man of a thousand faces--all the while desperate to uncover the truth about his wife's murder and track down the real killer, thereby exonerating him. Adapted from the popular 1960s television series, Davis manages to update the story with some spectacular set pieces.
