At the beginning of this episode we are show the fire team training to put out electrical fires and the are told how to do it in the correct way.

4 - Bug-Eyed Boy From Venus
Fireman Sam is showing the children the stars through his telescope when they see a shooting star. Norman doesn't believe that it is a star, he thinks it is an alien space ship coming to lad. The following morning the children are on the school bus talking about the spaceship Norman thinks he saw when they spot a crop circle in a field. The children ask for the bus to stop and the driver tells them that it was not a space ship that made it. 5 - Bath Time for Dusty.
This episode starts with the Station Officer talking to Sam about the old times when he was in the forces and then he decides that the Fire station needs a mascot to help boost the moral. The children think that Dusty the dog would make the ideal mascot. The sheep gets disqualified and Sam tells the children that Dusty is in with a good chance of winning but only if he has a bath and is nice and clean.
We then go to the Mountain rescue office where the mechanic is doing some work on the helicopter and he manages to start a fire in the shed.
The children try to bath Dusty but he runs off. The alarm at the station goes off and the team set off to the Mountain Rescue office. Will the team be able to put out the fire and will Dusty ever get his bath and become the station mascot?
SPECIAL FEATURES
On the DVD there are a few special feature which are:-
Animated Menu Subtitles Photo Gallery Web Link
We enjoyed looking at the photo gallery but we have not used the web link yet as I feel that my 3 year old is just slightly too young to understand it but I will test it out on my 6 year old during the school holidays in the hope of entertaining him for a short time!
MY OPINION
This is a great DVD for all Fireman Sam fans. The episodes are all new and the children will enjoy them. There is always a happy ending and this helps make the episodes enjoyable for the children.
The animation is very good and consistent throughout. Each episode runs for about 10 minutes and you do have the choice of playing all of the episodes in one go or selecting a certain one. This means it is ideal if you only have the time to watch one or if like my little man they want to sit and watch them all you don't have to keep pressing play and trying to get the next episode up.
There are a few funny moments in the episodes with Norman price who is a typical naughty and mischievous little boy. I think this is my little mans favourite character. I think it would have been a bit nicer if we had seen more of the mountain rescue helicopter as he is quite popular but I suppose he cannot be used in every episode.
INFO
The run time for the DVD is 63 minutes. The DVD was produced by Siriol Productions. It has a Universal certificate which is very appropriate as it is suitable for children of all ages.
I picked this DVD up for £2.99 from Morrison's which is a great price so do shop around for a bargain as it will keep fans entertained for ages.

...the return of child hero Fireman Sam in this DVD - Fireman Sam to the Rescue. As I was growing up I always envisaged myself being a film critic reviewing the latest cult movies. Then I had kids. Advantages: Great fun Disadvantages: I wish it lasted even longer!
Fireman Sam 'To the Rescue' is a must for any Fireman Sam fan. There is something really homely and safe about watching Fireman Sam- it is enjoyable for children and adults. There are quite a few jokes in it that appeal to adults only-e.g. Norman's mum is often getting her words mixed up and she sometimes goes on dates with Trevor. 'Danger:Falling Sheep'- in this episode, Norman gets stuck up a mountain with Woolly the sheep. A classic line from ... ...due to his portly figure. Fireman Sam's grease gun comes in handy when getting him out. 'A Real Live Wire'- this is one of my favourite episodes. Mandy finds a squirrels and sneaks it into her bedroom. Unfortunately the squirrel is hungry and before Mandy gets a chance to take him some crisps, he chews through the TV wire, starting a fire. Mandy makes the mistake of going back in to rescue her squirrel- luckily Fireman Sam is at hand. I love the ...
