Fireman Sam is every child's hero next door and as the parent of a little boy who is crazy about anything to do with Fireman he is a firm favourite in our house. The Fun Run DVD has been watched over and over again and still manages to entertain the children yet it isn't one of those DVD's that annoys parents and personally I can sit and watch it quite happily with him.
The story is set in the Welsh village of Pontypandy and centres around the fire ... ...where they always know that Fireman Sam, Station Officer Steele, Elvis Criddlington or Penny Morris will save them if they get into trouble. Pontypandy is a very close community and everyone looks out for one another. Each episode has an underlying moral but it is done in such a light-hearted way that it enhances the fun rather than making the viewing too serious. The episodes included on this DVD are:

Another gem from the Fireman Sam range of DVDs. Pontypandy's finest fire fighters are fit for action all the time in this great collection of stories. There is great humour and it appeals to children and adults alike. It is my favourite children's show- pure quality. It is very well written and the characters are very believable and fun.
'Fun Run'- Sam organises a fun run, but Norman changes all the arrows, as he wants to win the chocolate cake. ... ...spirit.
'Birthday Surprise.' Its Fireman Sam's birthday and he thinks everyone has forgotten. Of course they havent, theyre just planning a surpise party. Unfortunately, Norman forgets to tell Bella that the birthday candles for Sam's cake relight once blown out.
'Norman's Invisible Friend'- Norman invents an invisible friend to try and get double helpings of food. But when a fire breaks out at the Flood's house, Mandy goes back inside to try and ...
