Fireman Sam is every child's hero next door and as the parent of a little boy who is crazy about anything to do with Fireman he is a firm favourite in our house. The Fun Run DVD has been watched over and over again and still manages to entertain the children yet it isn't one of those DVD's that annoys parents and personally I can sit and watch it quite happily with him.
The story is set in the Welsh village of Pontypandy and centres around the fire station, the general store and the Italian restaurant. I love the way the stories portray an idyllic world for children to live in where they always know that Fireman Sam, Station Officer Steele, Elvis Criddlington or Penny Morris will save them if they get into trouble. it took me a few days to find this! The grey compartments on each side of the engine are just there for show but the supports on each side do work.
Jupiter is friction powered , you can open the doors on the cab and even put the figures inside.
On top of the engine you will see a red button if you press it you will have sounds such as "Greatfires of London" , " ready , steady, go here at the fire station" ,and beeping noise with flashing lights.
Underneath the engine is an on/off switch I would say this is handy to switch off when you have had enough of the noise but my son knows how to switch it back on!, there is also a battery compartment

Overall the Fire and stone is very reasonably priced, with mains costing approximatly 7-8 pounds with starters and seets from 3-4 pounds. The wine and alcholic drinks are also very reasonable but not quite at the bargain prices that the meals are.
Also look out for the very good value lunchtime deals during the week where you can purchase a pizza and a pint for just 5 pounds (from a more basic 5 pizzza menu).
Next time you ar in the area pop in and you will be suprised at how easy it is to have good food in a relaxed atmosphere in central london for a very very reasonable price ...
