Full review
As this is a review, let me first point out that everything i say here is my own personal opinion, so some of you might not agree with what i say, but that's life!

This film is unbelievable. The amount of time, work and effort gone into all the designs and animations is not far from crazy. This may possibly be the best example of an animated film ever.

Tying on to the end of the FF7 game, Cloud, Tifa, Barret and the rest have to stop yet another attack relating to Genova. All though there isn't much of a plot or storyline to the film, it is strongly advised for viewers to have at least a very general background knowledge of the storyline from the game, if not then this film can seem like it makes no sense.

The 2-disc DVD version comes with lots of added features, however, I seem to have misplaced my second disc, so will not be able to review that until I find it (I believe it is at home, which I won't be going back to until Easter time, so you will have to wait until then - sorry!!).

The featurette disc however, has (along with many different subtitle options and an 'audio set-up' option - allowing you to choose between Japanese and English) includes a 30 minute long "Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII" which is video footage taken from various parts of the game. While avid fans will enjoy this, all the text relating to the game is in Japanese, and while the video footage (which includes some FMV items) is amazing to watch and brings back many memories for me, people who aren't fans of the game, or have never played it will soon get bored and turn it off. However, in my opinion this is a great added extra for the true fans.

I did get the opinion that while watching this film, the animating team just wanted to show off their skills, I'm not complaining but I think the film could have been made even better (is that possible) if there was more to the storyline and perhaps a bigger more complex plot (like the game series), however i still loved and was amazed by every second of it. This is nothing short of a masterpiece
