This DVD is a brilliant animated film that picks up right where Final Fantasy VII left off.
For those of you that haven't played FFVII, it is probably the most loved of RPG's ever released and certainly the most loved of the Final Fantasy Series. Final Fantasy is a massive RPG series and VII was probably the highlight of many years tinkering for it's creators Square Soft.
The game revolves around you character named Cloud Strife, he was previously an employee to a company called Shinra who used the planets "zen" or life energy called Maco. With the maco they could genetically enhance their soilders and provide power to many cities and companies etc.
Aside from this though the evil leader of the Shinra company was carrying out experiments with an alien type life form, One of the experiments created a son. The alien life form was called Jenova and has massive abilities to control and manipulate many different elements. The son was named Sephiroth and was the best soldier in the Shinra army, everyone aspired to be just like Sephiroth but during a mission to a small village where cloud was believed to have grown up Sephiroth changed.
He became evil and twisted and went searching for his mother who he did not really know, Cloud left the army and joined a group of hired guns to make ends meet but they all end up saving the world from Sephiroth and Shinra . . . .
This picks up where the game left off, a couple of years have passed and things are returning to normal but a plague has hit the planet and no cure can be found. Cloud has run away from all his duties from the company he runs but once again has to rise up to the challenges ahead, as eventually Sephiroth is reborn . . . .
This DVD is fantastically animated and flows incredibly well. The animation are pretty much as good as you will get in a film of this style and the fight sequences are amazing.
The speed and clarity at which the fight sequences are created is astounding and to keep the animation so fluid throughout is a master piece. Children will love this for the action, Parents and adults will enjoy the story also, especially if they have seen/played the game.
If your into Japanese anime and/or animated films of any sort then this is a great title for your collection. The sound is crystal clear and sounds amazing if played through surround sound, it really seems like the fight sequences are happening around you and it is utterly absorbing and compelling.
One DVD not to be missed. 10/10

We went and bought this the first day it was out. However, we are replaying FF7 to recap as it has been 7 years ago since we completed it. There has been so much debate about a FF7-2, so I assume this resolves everything - Kupo x
