Advantages: Panicing characters making stupid decisions, great entertainment Disadvantages: You won't watch it over and over, not on the same weekend anyway
...the word intelligent very lightly, Final Destination opened up a new franchise where the scares were based off no physical being, but the idea that Death was finally coming from the usually young souls he required to carry out his plan. That plan is nothing more than the circle of life, and we're not talking Lion King here, more people dying just being a fact of life - and sometimes it is tragic situations where people have not been given the chance ... ...film. To be honest, in Final Destination you are never really going to be scared as you know what is coming. There isn't exactly the same jumps as you get in Scream, where someone sneaks up on the hero of the movie, only for it to be her friend.. and then the real killer turns up two seconds later when it's all too late to react. Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) is preparing for his school trip to France, and if you've never seen a Final Destination film ...

Advantages: Shocking, original, really interesting deleted scenes. Disadvantages: Perhaps a little graphic in places. Possibly best not to watch on your own.
...To say too much about this film would risk ruining for those who have yet to experience it. All I can really say about it is that it is truly shocking and absolutely superb.
The whole film had me on the edge of my seat for its duration and that's saying a lot from someone who rarely gets drawn into these things. I don't know how it's done but even if you know exactly what's going to happen you are still genuinely shocked when it does.
The DVD itself is one of the best I have seen with a wealth of extras. Most notably, by far the best collection of missing scenes I've ever scene in that they essentially give you two films with completely different final messages.
The games are a little disturbing to say the list but I'll leave it to you to discover why....

Advantages: Good story line Disadvantages: Too predictable
...FinalDestination is a good film, but is it supposed to be a horror film, because it didn't scare me at all. The only part that made me jump was when he was watching the news and the sudden thunder, that was it... It was a bit freaky at some points. It's still a good movie but not a good horror movie. It was kind of freaky when the boy got half his head chopped off, but I kind of knew that was going to happen...
Basically I think this film is too predictable....

...FinalDestination has an explosive start and manages to maintain the suspense throughout the film. The film has a couple of the finest death scenes seen at the big screen in recent years.
The actors are relatively unknown, which leaves the audience guessing as to who is next. The special effects are state of the art, the acting is good, and some scenes will really make you jump.
The idea behind the movie is novel, a welcome change from recent hollywood rehashes.
This is a must see movie and a real gem for fans of the genre....

DVD Description
When a teenager has a premonition that the plane he's about to board is going to explode, he throws a fit and gets him and his friends kicked off it. Shockingly, the plane crashes. As the group begins to die mysteriously one by one, the remaining survivors must try to figure out what is going on before they join the other victims. James Wong, migrating from the world of television (THE X-FILES, MILLENNIUM), has crafted a surprisingly intelligent, pulse-pounding thriller.
